My work is an illustrative exploration of varied media and techniques. Using vivacious hues to express the human form, I draw inspiration from a myriad of influences such as film (Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson), animation (Hayao Miyazaki and Sylvain Chomet), fairy tales (Brother's Grimm, Russian Folk tales, and Hans Christian Andersen), comics (Jen Wang, Adrian Tomine, and Bryan Lee O'Malley)
, and high art (Gustav Klimt, Claude Monet, Francis Bacon, and Marcel Dzama to name a few). I take certain subject matter, such as the human psyche or fantastical landscapes and creatures, and bring them into a contemporary form of art with humor and vibrancy.
