The Siangcos in Okinawa

The Siangcos in Okinawa As missionaries in Okinawa we focus on connecting people to Jesus and to one another! God has called us to Military Missions here in Japan.

At Neighborhood Church we create a Christ-centered community where people encounter God’s presence, and are empowered to impact their homes, workplaces, and the world! This page is a way for us not only to keep in touch with everyone we come in contact with but also to keep all of our friends and family informed on how God is moving here in Japan.

Good morning NCOkinawa Church Family,

As many of you have likely seen in the news, there has been a major escalation in the Middle East, a coordinated military strike by the United States and Israel against targets in Iran that has sparked significant retaliation and uncertainty across the region, including missile launches toward U.S. military bases and Israel. Civilian areas and military positions alike have been affected, and the situation remains volatile.

For our church this isn’t just “international news.” It’s deeply personal. We have service members on active duty, families connected to bases around the world, and loved ones whose safety and future may be directly affected by these developments. So today, I want to speak to you not just as your pastor, but as a brother in arms, standing in the middle of the tension with you.

1. Hold Fast to God’s Sovereignty
Psalm 46:1 reminds us, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
In the midst of geopolitical instability, God is not taken by surprise. His throne is not shaken by war declarations or shifting alliances. We can entrust our fears, our questions, and our loved ones to Him who never fails.

2. Pray Without Ceasing
Our first response isn’t fear it’s faith in action through prayer.

Let’s pray:

For peace in the region and an end to violence (Matthew 5:9).

For wisdom and restraint for world leaders (James 1:5).

For protection over our military personnel and their families, wherever they are stationed.

For healing for those affected, both physically and emotionally.

For the gospel to advance even in the midst of chaos.

3. Be a People of Peace and Presence
We are called to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13–16). That means caring for those around us who are anxious, grieving, or uncertain. Reach out. Send a text. Pray with someone. Be the presence of Jesus to the hurting and afraid.

4. Remember God’s Promises
No conflict, whether military, cultural, or spiritual, can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38–39). Our citizenship is in heaven first, and that gives us an eternal perspective that outlasts headlines.

Let’s come together in prayer this Sunday lifting up our service members, our nation, and the nations of the world. If you or your family are personally impacted by recent developments, please reach out; we want to walk with you.

May the Lord guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

With love and prayer,
Pastor Chris and Leah

Quick Update!!! 🇯🇵 -

We are now asking for your help to complete our monthly support goal. If you have not already done so, please consider partnering with us as a Monthly Supporter. Reaching our full monthly budget is necessary for AGWM to clear us to return to the field.

07/02/2026

Friends and ministry partners — thank you for the incredible way you have already stood with us through prayer, encouragement, and generosity. We are deeply grateful.

As we continue this season of itineration, our heart is not just to raise support, but to strengthen relationships with the churches and leaders who share in this calling. **We would truly love the opportunity to connect with pastors, missions directors, and churches** to share what God is doing in Okinawa and how you can be part of the eternal impact happening there.

For the past 16 years, God has allowed us to serve the American military community and the international families of Okinawa — shepherding people toward healing, equipping leaders, strengthening marriages, and building a Christ-centered community far from home.

Our goal now is to raise our full monthly support so we can return to the field as quickly as possible. The sooner we get there, the sooner we can continue ministering to the very people God has called us to serve.

Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us?

✅ **Connect** — Invite us to share with your church or missions team.
✅ **Pray** — Cover our family and the ministry in this important season.
✅ **Give** — Even a modest monthly gift makes a lasting difference in reaching lives for Christ.

As Paul wrote, *“Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.”* — Philippians 4:17 (ESV)

Thank you for believing in this mission and for helping us reach the nations through Okinawa. We are honored to walk this journey together — and we would love to connect with you soon!
