💭WHAT WILL I HAVE TO GIVE UP?
💭WHAT WILL IT COST ME IF I DISOBEY GOD?

(1 KINGS 3:3) “Now Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of his father David, EXCEPT that he was sacrificing and burning incense on the high places.”
💁🏻♂️Solomon loved God genuinely, but there were areas where his obedience was incomplete.

💭I want God, except….
𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗘 feels harmless because we only see what it costs us right now.
💭Where could this lead?
2️⃣ 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗪𝗦 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗜𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗧𝗢𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗.
(1 KINGS 11:4) “For when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away to follow other gods; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of his father David had been.”
(1 KINGS 11:9-10) “Now the Lord was angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice, and had commanded him regarding this thing, that he was not to follow other gods; but he did not comply with what the Lord had commanded.”
💁🏻♂️We don’t suddenly pull away from the Lord, we drift.
💁🏻♂️Sin grows through repeated decisions, tolerated habits, and areas we continually refuse to surrender.
(1 KINGS 16:31) “And as though it had been a TRIVIAL THINGS for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he married Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshiped him.”
-Trivial things👉🏻nanonormalized
💁🏻♂️COMPROMISE NEVER WANTS TO REMAIN A COMPROMISE. IT WANTS TO BECOME NORMAL.
3️⃣ 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗘 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗖𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗦 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝗪𝗘 𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗗.
(JAMES 1:14-15) “Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.”
💁🏻♂️You may choose the compromise, but you do not always get to choose its consequences.
💁🏻♂️What starts privately can eventually affect families, relationships, ministries, churches and future generations.
(ROMANS 6:23) “For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
💁🏻♂️Sin promises pleasures, comfort, acceptance, success or control.
BUT SIN ALWAYS SENDS A BILL.👈🏻
💁🏻♂️Jesus paid the price for sin that we could never pay ourselves.
👉🏻GRACE is not CHEAP!
💭Solomon loved the Lord…. EXCEPT.
💭WHAT IS YOUR EXCEPT?
💭WHAT ARE YOU UNWILLINGLY TO SURRENDER BECAUSE YOU ARE AFRAID OBEDIENCE COST TOO MUCH?
