Healing Message By:Bro.Resty Alberto
Shiomi Catholic Church August 16-2026 TEXT: 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
INTRO:
2 Corinthians 4:8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
I. HOW COULD PAUL BE UNDER SUCH TREMENDOUS PRESSURE AND STAY ON TOP OF THINGS?
A-B-C That Sustained Paul in Persecution. 2 Tim.4:1-22
A. ASSURANCE OF GLORY
2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
+ Paul already sees himself with Jesus -- who will judge all mankind, vindicate his suffering and welcome him into His kingdom.
2 Timothy 4:1 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom,
+ Accepted the honor of martyrdom
+ 2 Timothy 4:6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near.
+ Accounted for his life on earth --- "kept the faith"
2 Timothy 4:7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
+ Anticipating the crown of righteousness
2 Timothy 4:8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
+ Assured of spiritual deliverance and victory to the end
+ Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,
B. BLANKEE, BOOKS, BROTHERS
Blankets -- Comfort from bitter cold of winter
2 Timothy 4:13 When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, and my scrolls, especially the parchments.
Books -- Comfort from God's inspired Word
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
[13b]....and my scrolls, especially the parchments.
Brothers --Comfort from brothers and sisters in Christ
2 Timothy 4:19-22
[19] Greet Priscilla and Aquila and the household of Onesiphorus. [20] Erastus stayed in Corinth, and I left Trophimus sick in Miletus. [21] Do your best to get here before winter. Eubulus greets you, and so do Pudens, Linus, Claudia and all the brothers and sisters. [22] The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you all.
C-ONCERN FOR THE UNFINISHED MISSION.
Urgent preaching -- before men will no longer listen
2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
Unswerving commitment -- Despite rejection and hardship
2 Timothy 4:5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
+ Understanding the Lord's vindication
2 Timothy 4:14-15 Alexander the metalworker did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will repay him for what he has done. [15] You too should be on your guard against him, because he strongly opposed our message.
