Stop pretending.
You lift your hands in worship on Sunday,
but your tongue destroys people on Monday.
You quote verses,
but you gossip in group chats.
You shout “Hallelujah!”
but you whisper insults behind backs.
That is not holiness.
That is hypocrisy.
The Bible is clear:
“The tongue also is a fire… It corrupts the whole body.” — James 3:6
“With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings… My brothers and sisters, this should not be.” — James 3:9-10
Did you read that?
This should NOT be.
Holiness is not how loud you pray.
Holiness is not how long you fast.
Holiness is not how aesthetic your Bible looks.
Holiness is reflected in how you speak to people who cannot benefit you.
If your words are full of sarcasm, disrespect, and hidden hate, don’t talk about being set apart.
Because a holy heart produces holy speech.
Jesus said:
“For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” — Matthew 12:34
If bitterness comes out of you,
bitterness lives inside you.
Let that sink in.
You cannot crucify people with your mouth
and claim you carry the cross.
You cannot destroy someone’s confidence
and say you are walking in the Spirit.
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up.” — Ephesians 4:29
BUILD UP.
Not tear down.
Bless.
Not curse.
Speak life.
Not death.
If you are serious about holiness,
start with your tongue.
Repent.
Ask God to purify your heart.
Because when He cleans your heart,
He will clean your words.
Holiness is not a title.
It is a transformation.
And transformation begins
with what comes out of your mouth. 🔥
