" _For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,_ " (NIV)

Paul uses this word to assert that 100% of God's essence—not just a fragment or a reflection—is present in Jesus.

it was God’s "pleasure" or "good will." It highlights a deliberate choice to bridge the gap between the divine and the human.

This verse sets the stage for the following verse (v. 20), which explains why the fullness dwelt in Him: to *reconcile all things to God through the blood shed on the cross* .

It asserts that to see Jesus is to see the totality of God's character and power

TEXT: 📖*1 Corinthians 1:18* (NIV) states:

" _For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."_

It highlights the division in how the crucifixion is perceived: as nonsense by the world, but as God’s saving power by believers_ .

*KEY ISSUES TO CONSIDER*

1. _The Message of cross vs. Worldly Wisdom:_

The "word of the cross" refers to the gospel message, specifically Christ's crucifixion, which seemed weak or nonsensical to unbelievers but to us that believe, it's the power of God to the world for salvation

2. _The Perishing vs. And Saved_ :

Those who do not believe (perishing) view the cross as foolishness. Conversely, those who are being saved understand it as the ultimate expression of God's power and wisdom.

3. _God's Power_ :

The cross is not a sign of defeat, but rather God’s power to save humanity from sin.
