We have designed a great activity for families at the Church on Sunday 17th August. Find out about our wonderful stained glass windows which we are planning to restore by designing and making your own version - not in glass of course but lots of fun. Just drop into the church between 12.30 and 3.30 and have a go. Tours of the church also available - self guided or with a knowledgeable guide. We look forward to seeing you there.

We were delighted to have a visit from the Probus Group at Stone for a tour of the church followed by tea and cakes. As the picture below shows, we do very good cake at Sandon. Our visitors had a guided tour of the church and the opportunity to chime one of our six bells. We are grateful to them

Many thanks to the wonderful Heath Belles for performance at our recent Songs at Suppertime event in Weston. A great evening with food, entertainment and great company.

This was just one of our great fundraising events at Sandon Church. Our next event is the Bluebell Walk on Sunday 27th April then our recital by performers from the Birmingham Conservatoire on 1 July at Sandon Hall. After a break for the summer we recommence our programme with a talk on our Remarkable Railways on 13 November and round off the year with our annual Christmas Concert at Sandon Hall this year featuring Chanteuse. All details and how to get tickets can be found on our website www.sandonallsaints.com

On behalf of the PCC we were delighted to welcome Sir Gavin to All Saints’ Church in Sandon. As our MP we wanted to share with Sir Gavin our conservation story of work over the past decade and our current project to conserve the historic artefacts in the church including Elizabethan monuments, tombs and wall paintings, our Stuart Royal Coat of Arms and Victorian stained glass windows.

We are fortunate to be funded in the main by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and because of our support from that fund we have extended our work in the local community to include schools visits, extended opening hours, group visits and the use of the church as a reflective space for community groups.

We also wanted Sir Gavin to be aware of the impact on our project of the introduction of an annual claims limit of £25,000 per church for VAT recovery claims to the Listed Places of Worship Grant Fund in the 2025/26 tax year. Our project budget includes around £90,000 of recoverable VAT for work in the next tax year. For a small church community which has worked hard to raise funds for the conservation of the church for future generations this is a major setback. We are grateful to Sir Gavin for both his visit and his concern about this issue for us and for other churches and cathedrals which are a valuable and irreplaceable part of our heritage.
