๐ŸŒ Beth Shalom was founded in 2002 to offer worshippers an alternative form of Judaism infused with meaning and relevance. Since that time, our congregation has grown rapidly and includes members from Italy and several other countries. Beth Shalom, member of FIEP (Italian Federation for Progressive Judaism), is a part of the European Region (EUPJ) of the World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ), the largest Reform Jewish organization in the world. Our approach to Judaism is modern and we believe in its significance in our daily lives and the importance of the synagogue as a symbol of our community. Together, we attempt to find out what it means to live a fully Jewish life.

Con profonda tristezza annunciamo la scomparsa di ๐‘๐š๐›๐›๐ข ๐‹๐ž๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐‹๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ซ, presenza importante nella comunitร  Beth Shalom Milano dal 2012 al 2016. Negli ultimi anni ha continuato ad essere vicino al mondo ebraico italiano come docente del corso di preparazione al ghiur della Federazione Italiana per l'Ebraismo Progressivo - FIEP.

Lo ricordiamo con affetto e gratitudine per la sua saggezza, la sua gentilezza e la dedizione con cui ha accompagnato i nostri membri nel loro percorso ebraico.

Il nostro pensiero va alla sua amata moglie Loren e a tutta la famiglia.

Il suo ricordo sia una benedizione.

It is with profound sorrow that we share the news of Rabbi Leigh Lerner's passing.

Rabbi Lerner served our congregation for 23 years (1989-2012) as Senior Rabbi, and later as Rabbi Emeritus. He was deeply learned and equally compassionate, and a beloved leader of this community.

The funeral will be in Minnesota in the coming days, and there will be a shiva at Temple. Details to follow.

May Rabbi Lernerโ€™s memory always be a blessing.
