Honorable men and women walk from Najaf to Karbala in Iraq (50 miles / 80km), with their families in this war-torn country, as part of the annual 'Arbaeen Pilgrimage'. Their destination, is the shrine of Imam Hussain, a 6th century revolutionary and the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. stood up against the terrorists and oppressors of his time and got martyred by the forces of the evil tyrannical
ruler, Yazid. The pilgrims will be joined by more than 30 million other pilgrims, from various religions and schools of thoughts, united under the banner of hope, dignity and humanity. In previous years, terrorist organisations like ISIS have tried to curb this event through su***de bombings and remotely operated bombs - but the number of people walking increases every year nonetheless, defiant, unafraid - hopeful! All along the 80km stretch between Najaf and Karbala, thousands of camps and kiosks offer the pilgrims free drinks, food, shelter, medicine and even foot massages among countless other free services. The road is lit up by the love of Hussain a.s. and the air perfumed by his message of 'laa ilaaha illallah', the message of ultimate freedom.
