On Saturday, July 25, 2026, His Holiness Mar Gewargis III Younan, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Ancient Church of the East in Iraq and worldwide , received the Honorable Mr. Yacoob Gewargis Yaco, Secretary General of the Assyrian Democratic Movement (ZOWAA), and his accompanying delegation at Saint Odisho Church in Chicago, Illinois.

​The two parties discussed the current conditions of Assyrians in Iraq and emphasized the importance of continued coordination between the Church leadership and national institutions, in support of our brothers and sisters in our homeland, Iraq.

The meeting was attended by Most Rev Archdeacon Awiquam Pithyou, Rev. Georgis Odisho, Mr. Samir Nikho - Church Committe President, Church Deacons and Committee Members.

ܝܗܘܘ ܡܛܝܒ݂̈ܐ ܥܡ ܩܕܝܫܘܬܗ ܡܪܝ ܓܝܘܪܓܝܤ ܬܠܝܬܝܐ ܝܘܢܢ: ܡܩܠܤܐ ܐܪܟܕܝܩܘܢ ܐܒܝܩܡ ܦܬܝܘܢ، ܡܩܠܤܐ ܩܫܝܫܐ ܓܝܘܪܓܝܤ ܥܒܕܝܫܘܥ.

ܗܕܐ ܬܦܩܬܐ ܝܠܗ ܡܚܙܝܬܐ ܕܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܥܡܝܩܬܐ ܘܚܘܒܐ ܐܚܘܢܝܬܐ ܕܡܚܝܕܝ ܠܢ. ܡܪܝܐ ܐܡܝܢܐܝܬ ܡܒܪܟ ܠܐܒ̣ܗܬܢ ܪ̈ܘܚܢܝܐ ܟܕ ܡܪܥܝ ܠܡܗܝܡܢ̈ܐ ܓܘ ܟܠܗ̇ ܬܒ̣ܝܠ.

في يوم الأربعاء، ١ تموز/يوليو ٢٠٢٦، استضاف قداسة البطريرك مار آوا الثالث روئيل، جاثليق-بطريرك كنيسة المشرق الآشورية، قداسة البطريرك مار گورگيس الثالث يونان، جاثليق-بطريرك الكنيسة الشرقية القديمة، على مأدبة غداء في المقر الأسقفي لكنيسة المشرق الآشورية في مورتون غروف، إلينوي.

وحضر هذه المناسبة نيافة الاسقف مار بولس بنيامين، أسقف أبرشية شرق الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية؛ والأركذياقون الموقر وليم توما، والأركذياقون الموقر گورگيس توما.

ورافق قداسة البطريرك مار گورگيس الثالث يونان كلٌّ من الأركذياقون الموقر أويقم بثيو، والقس الأب گورگيس عوديشو.

يعكس هذا اللقاء عمق الإيمان والمحبة الأخوية التي توحِّدنا. نسأل الرب أن يواصل مباركة آبائنا ورؤسائنا الروحيين، وأن يمنحهم نعمته وهم يرعون المؤمنين في جميع أنحاء العالم.

On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, His Holiness Mar Awa III Royel, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East, hosted His Holiness Mar Gewargis III Younan, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Ancient Church of the East, for lunch at the Episcopal Residence of the Assyrian Church of the East in Morton Grove, Illinois.

Present for this occasion were His Grace Mar Paulus Benjamin, Bishop of the Diocese of the Eastern USA; Most Rev. Archdeacon William Toma; and Most Rev. Archdeacon Gewargis Toma.

Accompanying His Holiness Mar Gewargis III Younan were Most Rev. Archdeacon Awiquam Pithyou and Rev. Fr. Georges Odisho.

This gathering reflects the deep faith and brotherly love that unites us. May the Lord continue to bless our spiritual leaders as they shepherd the faithful throughout the world.

On Sunday, June 7, 2026, His Holiness Mar Gewargis III Younan, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Ancient Church of the East, celebrated Divine Liturgies on the occasion of the Second Sunday of the Apostles at Saint Odisho Church in Chicago, Illinois. His Holiness was accompanied by Most Rev. Archdeacon Awiquam Pithyou, Rev. Father Georgis Odisho, venerable deacons, and the beloved faithful of the Church.

Following Holy Mass, the beloved faithful celebrated the third anniversary of the consecration of His Holiness to the Holy Rank of Catholicos-Patriarch of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Ancient Church of the East.

​وحضر القداس غبطة مار يعقوب دانيل، مطران بغداد والبصرة والوكيل البطريركي العام.

Sunday, May 31, 2026 - In celebration of the Holy Feast of Pentecost, His Holiness Mar Gewargis III Younan, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Ancient Church of the East in Iraq and worldwide, conducted Holy Liturgy at the Patriarchal Cathedral of Saint Mary the Blessed Virgin in Baghdad.

Holy Liturgy was attended by His Beatitude Mar Yakoob Danil, Metropolitan of Baghdad and Basra and Patriarchal Vicar General.

بغداد 31 أيار 2026 - استجاب قداسة مار كيوركيس الثالث يونان، جاثليق-بطريرك الكنيسة الشرقية القديمة في العراق والعالم، لدعوة السيد ريان الكلداني، الأمين العام لحركة بابليون، وقام بزيارته في مقر إقامته.

​وقد رافق قداسته في هذه الزيارة غبطة مار يعقوب دانيل، مطران أبرشية بغداد والبصرة والنائب البطريركي العام، والأب شمعون أصلان، كاهن رعية بغداد والسكرتير البطريركي.

​ساد اللقاء أجواء من الود والألفة، وجرى خلاله تبادل وجهات النظر حول عدد من القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك، ولا سيما ما يتعلق بأوضاع المسيحيين في العراق، وسبل تعزيز التعاون والتضامن بما يضمن دعم وترسيخ الوجود المسيحي ودوره الوطني في البلاد.

Baghdad, May 31, 2026 - His Holiness Mar Gewargis III Younan, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Ancient Church of the East in Iraq and worldwide, accepted an invitation from Mr. Rayan Al-Kildani, General Secretary of the Babylon Movement, visiting him at his residence.

Accompanying His Holiness on this visit were His Beatitude Mar Yakoob Danil, Metropolitan of the Archdiocese of Baghdad and Basra and Patriarchal Vicar General, and Fr. Shimon Aslan, Parish Priest of Baghdad and Patriarchal Secretary.

The meeting was held in a cordial and amicable atmosphere, during which views were exchanged on a number of matters of common concern, particularly with regard to the conditions of Christians in Iraq and the means of strengthening cooperation and solidarity in a manner that supports and reinforces the Christian presence and its national role in the country.

​وقد ركزت المباحثات على الوضع الحالي للمسيحيين في العراق، وأكد قداسته على أهمية تعزيز التواصل والتعاون بين المسيحيين في العراق والمهجر.

The discussion focused on the current situation of Christians in Iraq, and underscored the importance of strengthening communication and cooperation between Christians in Iraq and the diaspora.

Also in attendance were His Beatitude Mar Yakoob Danil, Metropolitan of Baghdad and Basra and Patriarchal Vicar General, and Father Shimon Aslan, Parish Priest of Baghdad and Patriarchal Secretary.

His Holiness Mar Awa III Royel was accompanied by His Beatitude Mar Aprim Athneil - Metropolitan of Syria, His Grace Mar Elia Isaac - Bishop of Baghdad, His Grace Mar Abris Youkhanan - Bishop of Nohadra and Nineveh, and His Grace Mar Narsai Benyamin, Bishop of Iran, Armenia, and Georgia.
