🌼 Ashram Deepavali Blessings 🌼
The Ashram lovingly wishes you and your dear ones a blessed and joyous Deepavali!
May this sacred Festival of Lights fill your home with peace, your mind with clarity, and your heart with divine love.
✨ The Radiance of Deepavali ✨
Deepavali — derived from the Sanskrit words Deepa (light) and Avali (row or array) — beautifully captures the essence of illumination. It reminds us to dispel the darkness of ignorance and ego, and to awaken the inner lamp of awareness.
This sacred day commemorates the moment when Narakasura, the embodiment of darkness and greed, was destroyed — symbolizing the triumph of light, purity, and truth. As lamps glow in every home and hearts rejoice in togetherness, we are reminded that the greatest victory is within — the conquest of the self by the Self.
🌸 Deepavali in the Ashram 🌸
In the stillness of dawn, our Ashram awakened to the joyful sounds of crackling firecrackers, humble prayers, and the fragrance of oil lamps adorning the sanctum. Devotees gathered with pure hearts, exchanging smiles, sweets, and blessings. Together we shared festive meals, chanted the Lord’s name, and offered gratitude for the light that guides us through every shadow of life.
Each lamp lit in the Ashram is not merely a flame — it is a symbol of inner transformation, the steady glow of awareness that dissolves ignorance, ego, and fear. It is a reminder that the real Deepavali shines within, when the light of knowledge dispels the night of illusion.
🕉 The Inner Light — In the Words of Sri Ramana Maharshi 🕉
Sri Ramana Maharshi revealed the deeper, spiritual meaning of Deepavali from the vision of Advaita, the oneness of all existence, by the following verses:
“The day that Narayana grinds to death the Naraka-ego in the quest of knowledge, inquiring whence the ‘I’ arises—that day is the true Festival of Lights.
To destroy the sinner, the false ego that identifies with the body, and to shine as the radiant Self — this indeed is Deepavali.”
In these profound words, Bhagavan reminds us that lighting the outer lamp symbolizes the awakening of the inner flame of Truth — the light that never flickers, the awareness that never fades.
🌺 Blessings for All Beings 🌺
As we celebrate this divine festival, let us remember to extend light and love to all — to those in need, to those who might be lost in life’s darkness, and to all living beings who share this world with us.
May every prayer, every lamp, every joyous song become an offering of gratitude to the Divine that dwells within and without.
May Deepavali not just illuminate your home, but your heart — awakening the eternal light of compassion, faith, and peace.
🌟 Ashram Deepavali Message 🌟
May this Deepavali usher in a year overflowing with inner light, harmony, well-being, and divine grace.
May the eternal flame of Truth burn bright in your hearts, guiding you through every step of the journey toward the Self.
Wishing you and your loved ones a blissful, luminous, and love-filled Deepavali — where light triumphs over darkness, wisdom over ignorance, and the soul over the shadow of the ego.

Navaratri Celebrations - 01.10.2025 - Day 10 - Mahishasura Mardini
The Divine Mother manifests in her fierce and awe-inspiring form as the destroyer of Mahishasura, the formidable demon who relentlessly tormented the righteous and brazenly defied the cosmic forces of good. Mahishasura was a symbol of cruelty and cunning, infamous for his ruthless persecution of innocent beings and his audacious disrespect toward the Goddess herself—a grave act of hubris that marked the beginning of his inevitable downfall. Responding to this challenge, the Divine Mother unleashed her full divine power, transforming into a fearsome warrior whose strength and fury knew no bounds. With unparalleled might and celestial grace, she confronted Mahishasura, vanquishing him and his entire army in an epic battle that reverberates through the spiritual consciousness of devotees. This glorious victory is more than mythic lore; it stands as an eternal reminder of the triumph of righteousness over wickedness and the reinstatement of dharma, the cosmic order that sustains the universe.
Yet, beyond the literal narrative, the figure of Mahishasura carries profound symbolic significance. He represents the human mind when overtaken by negativity—those destructive emotions and thoughts like fear, doubt, pride, greed, and ignorance that obscure our true nature and pull us away from spiritual awakening. In this light, the Divine Mother’s battle with Mahishasura is not just a cosmic war but a sacred internal struggle. Through her infinite compassion and boundless wisdom, she confronts the inner demons that dwell within us all. By slaying these mental afflictions, she liberates her devotees from the shackles of illusion, guiding them to a deeper self-realization and awakening their latent spiritual potential. This inner transformation—the conquest of the lower self—is as momentous and essential as the external defeat of the demon, emphasizing the critical role of self-mastery and purification on the path to enlightenment.
The Divine Mother’s victorious, indomitable spirit is exquisitely celebrated in the Devi Mahatmyam, an ancient and revered scripture that exalts her divine power and compassion. Within its verses, celestial beings sing the ‘Aparājitā Hymn’—a magnificent tribute known as “Praise to the Eternally Undefeated Goddess.” This hymn encapsulates her unwavering strength, resilience, and her unceasing protection over her devotees. It proclaims her eternal victory over all forces of darkness and adversity, presenting her as a beacon of hope and inspiration for those who seek refuge and guidance. Through this text, she emerges not only as a fearsome destroyer of evil but also as a loving guardian and empowerer of those on the spiritual path.
As the vibrant nine-day festival of Navaratri draws to a close, the destruction of Mahishasura assumes a layered significance. It symbolizes more than just the defeat of malevolent external forces—it also represents the victory over the inner adversaries that every person must face in life. This climactic moment reaffirms the profound belief that with unwavering faith, heartfelt devotion, and the boundless grace of the Divine Mother, no obstacle—whether physical, mental, or spiritual—can ultimately prevail. The narrative encourages us to trust in her divine strength to overcome the challenges and darkness that appear along our individual journeys.
The culminating celebration of Navaratri is thus a deeply joyful and reflective occasion. Devotees come together with gratitude and reverence to honor the Divine Mother’s triumph, engaging in sacred prayers, intricate rituals, and jubilant festivities. It is a time to renew commitment to her guidance and draw inspiration from her unwavering power. Through her blessings, devotees find the courage and strength to pursue the path of righteousness, cultivate inner peace amid life’s trials, and awaken fully to their divine potential. This festival encapsulates the essence of transformation—the power of the Divine Mother to destroy ignorance, dissolve negativity, and illuminate the way toward liberation and spiritual fulfillment.
In honoring her victory, we celebrate the eternal dance of creation and destruction, light and shadow, reminding ourselves that the Divine Mother’s energy is the ultimate force that sustains, protects, and uplifts the cosmos and all beings within it.

The name Esha is deeply rooted in the symbolism of Adisesha (also known as Anantha), the thousand-headed serpent god upon whom Lord Vishnu reclines in a cosmic posture known as Seshasayana. In this divine depiction, Vishnu lies serenely on Adisesha, embodying eternal rest amidst the infinite cosmic ocean. This image carries profound spiritual significance, and the concept of Seshasayana can be interpreted in two essential dimensions.
To begin with, the term Sesha translates to “remainder” or “that which remains.” During pralaya—the great cosmic dissolution—when all creation merges into the primordial waters, only one entity persists: the Divine Mother. She alone stands as the ultimate, immutable reality, transcending both time and space. While the universe undergoes endless cycles of birth and dissolution, the Divine Mother, the origin of all creation, remains unchanged. Thus, one powerful interpretation of Seshasayana is that it represents the eternal, undissolved presence of the Divine Mother—the one who remains (Sesha) when all else fades into oblivion.
Adisesha, the thousand-headed serpent, symbolizes stability, support, and infinity. The image of the Divine Mother resting upon him is layered with spiritual meaning, signifying equipoise, permanence, and transcendence.
With his countless heads bearing the weight of the universe, Adisesha reflects the unshaken nature of the Divine Mother. Just as Vishnu reclines peacefully upon the serpent in the vast cosmic ocean, the Divine Mother remains untouched by the turbulence and fluctuations of the material realm. She is nirguna (beyond attributes), paratpara (the supreme of the supreme), and nirvikara (unchanging). She transcends all dualities—pleasure and pain, form and formlessness—and her essence is vast, beyond the reach of human cognition. Unaffected by the rise and fall of worlds and the endless cycles of creation and destruction, she embodies the ultimate transcendence over the material plane. Though she sustains the cosmos, she remains untainted by its impermanence.
As the eternal serpent, Sesha represents permanence and cosmic stability. In Hindu cosmology, Adisesha is believed to exist from time immemorial, supporting the universe upon his innumerable heads. The Divine Mother reclining on Adisesha signifies that she, too, is the embodiment of permanence. All things in the universe are subject to the laws of change—creation, preservation, and dissolution are inevitable. Yet, beyond this transient reality, the Divine Mother endures as the eternal, unchanging truth. She is the foundational ground of all existence, distinct from the mutable nature of the material world. Her permanence is not merely physical but profoundly spiritual—she is the timeless force that exists beyond the boundaries of time and space.
The image of the Divine Mother or Lord Vishnu resting on Adisesha conveys a message of cosmic balance and harmony. Adisesha’s coiled, symmetrical form represents the infinite cycles of time (Kaalachakra). As the Divine reclines upon him, it illustrates that the cosmic order is upheld by the eternal force of divinity. The Divine Mother’s tranquil repose signifies her mastery over time and space. Though she possesses the power to create, sustain, and dissolve the universe, she remains serene, undisturbed by the cosmic motion.
Adisesha’s role as the eternal support beneath the Divine further emphasizes the theme of cosmic stability amidst perpetual change. Even when the universe dissolves in the great deluge, the Divine Mother remains the ultimate foundation—the Adhara, the primordial force upon which all creation is anchored. This highlights the truth that while all else is fleeting, the Divine Mother alone is eternal—the indestructible essence that sustains existence.
The thousand heads of Adisesha also symbolize infinity—the limitless and immeasurable nature of reality. Just as the serpent’s heads defy enumeration and comprehension, so too does the true nature of the Divine Mother elude human understanding. She is infinite consciousness, the cosmic force behind all creation, and the ultimate destination for souls seeking liberation. Her repose on Adisesha reflects her dominion over time’s cycles and her presence as the infinite truth that transcends them.
In this divine posture, the Divine Mother offers a glimpse of liberation to the spiritual aspirant. Adisesha, as the serpent of infinity, represents the path to spiritual awakening—where the soul rises above the confines of the material world and attains eternal truth. The Divine Mother’s serene presence upon Adisesha symbolizes moksha (liberation), the state in which one merges with the infinite, free from the illusions of temporal existence.
This sacred image of the Divine Mother reclining on Adisesha imparts profound spiritual wisdom. It reveals her untouched nature, beyond worldly distractions and the grasp of time and space. It also affirms her permanence—she is the eternal truth, enduring even when the universe dissolves. Through this symbolism, we are reminded of the fleeting nature of material life and the enduring, infinite presence of the Divine Mother, who remains as the unshakable reality behind all creation.
May the Divine Mother, in her timeless and all-encompassing grace, guide us toward the realization of her eternal truth and bless us with the wisdom to seek liberation beyond the cycles of time.

25/09/2025

On this sacred day, our hearts turn to the divine story of the Mother's tapas, an act of profound spiritual significance that is deeply intertwined with the spiritual history of Arunachala. The Divine Mother, who embodies the cosmos itself, once engaged in a playful act that had immense cosmic consequences. She playfully covered the eyes of Lord Shiva, her divine consort, unaware of the universal balance maintained by His gaze. This momentary lapse plunged the cosmos into chaos, a reflection of the interconnectedness of all divine duties.

Upon realizing the magnitude of her action, the Mother, a symbol of both immense power and deep compassion, chose to atone. She undertook a profound tapas—a sacred penance—on Arunachala, the very mountain that is revered as a manifestation of Lord Shiva himself. Her act was not merely one of personal atonement but a cosmic restoration, reminding us that even divine beings are bound by the principles of cosmic balance and humility.

This act of divine penance sets the stage for a momentous event in our spiritual history: the meeting between Kavyakantha Ganapati Muni and Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi.

On November 18, 1907, the renowned scholar and seeker, Kavyakantha, came to the Virupaksha Cave on Arunachala, seeking answers to his deepest spiritual questions. Despite his vast knowledge of scriptures and years of dedicated practice, he felt he had not yet grasped the true essence of tapas. He humbly prostrated himself before Brahmana Swamy (as Sri Ramana was then known) and asked with great sincerity, “I have read all the scriptures and performed all the rituals, but I have not understood what tapas is. Please enlighten me.”

In that moment, Brahmana Swamy's silent gaze was the profound answer. His very presence was the teaching. After a long, penetrating silence, he spoke gently, revealing the ultimate truth:
"If one watches where his notion of 'I' springs, the mind will be absorbed into that source. That is tapas. If a mantra is repeated and attention is directed to the source where the mantra sound is produced, the mind will be absorbed in that. That is tapas."

These simple words carried the weight of direct experience. Ramana Maharshi was not teaching from books but from the light of Self-realization. He was offering the path of Self-Inquiry, a direct method to trace the ego-thought back to its source, leading to its dissolution and a merging with divine consciousness. This was the essence of true tapas—a sustained inner attention that leads to the annihilation of the ego.

Overwhelmed with joy and gratitude, Kavyakantha Ganapati Muni recognized that he had found his true Guru. It was at this moment he declared that Brahmana Swamy was a Maharshi—a great sage—and that he should henceforth be known as Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi.

Inspired by the grace he received, Kavyakantha composed the Umasahasram, a thousand verses in praise of the Divine Mother. This was his own act of tapas, a devotional offering to the Goddess who had guided him to his Guru and the ultimate truth he had been seeking.

The intertwined stories of the Divine Mother's tapas, Kavyakantha's quest, and Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi's silent wisdom serve as timeless examples of the transformative power of humility, devotion, and turning inward. They remind us that the path to enlightenment lies within, and that true tapas is the profound journey of the Self returning to its Source.
