Subject: Rev. Bro. Emmanuel Kaniyamparambil OCD
Bro. Emmanuel Kaniamparambil of our Province died at 2.10 a.m. today, Friday, the 17th of April 2020. He was 80 years old. He was suffering from Parkinson's Disease for the last many years. He was the first one to move into the part of Building of Cherupushpa Ashram, Ettumannoor meant for the Senior and Sick friars which was blessed by Very Rev. Fr. General in 2014.
He had his Diploma in Printing Technology from Instituto Salesiano, Roma in 1981. He was the Assistant Manager and Manager of St. Joseph's Press for 23 years and was behind the growth and progress of St. Joseph's Press as it is today. He was Provincial Councillor for three times. He was also the Provincial Bursar for once. He served as the Bursar at our Mount Carmel School, Una, (Delhi Province) and the Bursar of our AVP, Bangalore. He came to Ettumannoor for rest and treatment in 2014. He was house-bound from 2014. He was fully bed-bound for the last few years. His condition became too bad for the last many months and henceforth he required full time medical and nursing care. So he was taken to a Nursing Home named ROSA MYSTICA which is only about 700 meters from our Cherupushpa Ashram, Ettumannoor. From this Monday, he was in the Hospital following pneumonia.
His funeral will be at 11.30 a.m. on Saturday, the 18th of April at our Cemetery at Lisieux Centre, Muvattupuzha. As participation in the funeral will be according to the Lock Down protocol, we will be live-streaming the ceremony for our friars and his family members.
