The early church fathers chose the symbol of the CROSS.

Believers Eastern Church, a Christian denomination is Biblical and evangelical in faith, apostolic in origin, universal in nature, ecumenical in outlook, and has a constitutional episcopacy for governance. Its two bars were already a cosmic symbol from remote antiquity representing the axis between heaven and earth. Their choice had a specific explanation. They wished to commemorate as central to

their understanding of Jesus, neither His birth nor His youth, neither His teaching nor His service, neither His resurrection nor His reign, nor the gift of the Spirit, but His death, His crucifixion. The Cross and the Circle

While the circle in the logo represents eternity, the cross is not enclosed or contained within the circle. It goes beyond the circle, implying that the cross is the centrality of our faith and its significance transcends eternity. It represents the Lord Jesus Christ and His redemptive work on the cross. So the supreme priority of our church is to enable God’s people to know Jesus more fully and intimately and hunger to become like Him. Thus they will manifest Christ’s life as they die to self through the cross and follow in His footsteps. The four emblems, within the circle stand for the emphasis we have in the Church. The book stands for the consistent teaching of the Word to equip the believers for service. The heart stands for agape love through which the members of the body grow into maturity. The dove speaks of a life of worship in spirit and truth. The fish represents the call of Christ on our lives to become fishers of men, being involved in world evangelism.

The historic first-ever GFABS Alumni Meet 2026 concluded on Saturday after three memorable days of fellowship, reflection, and reunion. Nearly 400 alumni from the graduating batches of 1995–2012 participated in this landmark gathering.

The alumni meet was held at the Mor Athanasius Yohan Memorial Convention Center, located at the World Headquarters of Believers Eastern Church.

The event was inaugurated by Moran Mor Dr. Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan, the first Principal of the Seminary, whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for GFABS and shaped it into the institution it is today. His presence made the occasion deeply special for all the alumni gathered.

The meet was enriched by inspiring sessions from Rev. Dr. George Cherian, Rev. Dr. Packiam T. Samuel, and Moran Mor Dr. Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan. Interactive sessions, prayers for the nation, state-wise and batch-wise meetings, and moments of worship and fellowship made the event truly enriching and memorable.

More than just an alumni gathering, the meet became a celebration of legacy, faith, mission, and lifelong relationships. It provided a beautiful opportunity for alumni to reconnect, share cherished memories, and celebrate the bond that continues to unite the GFABS family across generations and regions.

GFABS, now known as St. Ignatius Theological Seminary, is the major Seminary of Believers Eastern Church, located in Thiruvalla. The alumni gathering marked a significant milestone in the rich history and enduring legacy of the Seminary.

Happy Feast of Pentecost!

Tomorrow, we celebrate the glorious Feast of Holy Pentecost — the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples like tongues of fire, filling them with courage, wisdom, and divine strength, and marking the birth of the Church.

Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit is still at work today — renewing hearts, healing divisions, strengthening the weary, and guiding us into the truth of Christ. In a world often filled with fear and uncertainty, the Spirit calls us to live with faith, hope, and love.

As we prepare for this sacred feast, may we open our hearts anew to the transforming presence of the Holy Spirit, so that we too may become witnesses of God’s light and instruments of His peace in the world.

“Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love.”

Building peaceful homes begins with awareness, understanding, and compassion. With this vision in mind, the Hope for Children initiative under the Dhaka Diocese conducted a Domestic Violence and Family Conflict Awareness Program to educate parents, caregivers, youth, and community leaders on the importance of healthy family relationships rooted in love, respect, patience, and open communication. Around 65 participants, including men, women, and children, attended the program and actively engaged in the discussions.

The awareness program focused on addressing the harmful effects of domestic violence, protecting the rights of women and children, and strengthening community support against abuse and violence. Together, the community took a meaningful step toward promoting peace, harmony, and mutual respect within every home.
