Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Easter Greetings from India,
Today, I feel moved to share a reality that weighs heavily on the hearts of millions of my people in India — especially our Dalit Christian brothers and sisters.
In India, the caste system still shapes daily life in painful ways. Those born into the lowest castes, known as Dalits or Scheduled Castes, have long suffered discrimination, exclusion, and deep social wounds. The government provides certain protections and benefits to help them survive these injustices.
But a recent Supreme Court ruling has once again declared that these protections are taken away the moment a Dalit chooses to follow Christ. Only those who remain Hindu, Sikh, or Buddhist are allowed to keep their Scheduled Caste status. Anyone who becomes Christian or Muslim loses all benefits instantly — education support, job reservations, financial aid, and social protections.
This ruling has caused fear, hardship, and heartbreak for many Dalit Christians who already live on the margins. Some are pressured to “return” to another religion just to survive. Others face accusations of “forced conversions,” even when their faith is a personal choice born from hope and dignity.
Yet in the midst of this, their faith remains unshaken.
They choose Christ even when it costs them everything.
Today, I humbly ask you — my friends across nations — to join your hearts with ours.
🙏 Pray for India’s human rights advocates, that God may give them wisdom and courage as they work for justice and fairness.
🙏 Pray for our Christian brothers and sisters who face accusations, pressure, and discrimination, that the Lord may protect them and give them strength to stand firm with grace.
🙏 Pray for the Dalit Christians who have lost financial support, social acceptance, and basic security because of their faith. May our Heavenly Father provide for their daily needs and surround them with His peace.
Your prayers matter. Your compassion matters. Your voice matters.
Thank you for standing with the least, the forgotten, and the faithful.
May God bless you for every prayer you whisper and every act of love you offer.
In hope and solidarity,
