'Rudra' at Nageshwar Temple, Pune.

In complete awareness, we are always performing a Yagya.
Yagya, a vedic term, means an offering, worship, devotion, sacrifice, practice and the way this logic applies depends upon human intent or intellect. I was commissioned this work at a 700 year old temple in Pune, Nageshwar [geotagged]. This 50 ft long work is Rudra, manifested as the pandits performed Ati Rudra. Ati Rudra is one of its kind sonic experiences as numerous brahmins recite Rudra Mantras.
I feel concerned to talk about Vedic practices as the way religion has been misunderstood/ misjudged/ misinterpreted toady. Also painting anything close to Hinduism is a job filled with risks [threat calls included].
This was the last mural of 2016. My yagya of 2016 thus concludes with Ati Rudram.
Idam Namama.
[An offering for you.]

This is a piece that glorifies the bravery of the firefighters. The mural shows a demonic presence, which occupies the prime position, but, our firefighters, drawn dynamically, protect us civilians from harm. The experience painting this was a celebration of their bravery.

Born to a family of comic book illustrators, this artist was always going to create things. But he's transcended the limitations of mere books.

As the monsoon draws to an end, Mithun/मिथुन swims again at the conflux of the river M***a.

It overlooks the amalgamation of the old and the new Pune that suffered the 1961 floods but continues to expand and progress despite the challenges of environment and population.

If you cross his lair, don't forget to and post a picture!
