Kokkanisseri Madathumpadi Sree Subrahmanya Swami Temple is situed in the heart of Payyanur town,Kannur District of Kerala.Legend has it that the temple stands on the very land where Sage Kapila Maharshi used to offer his Prayers and Yagas.The main dieties of the temple are Lord Subrahmanya and Lord Kirtheswara(Shiva).
