Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee Maharaj Jee De 552nd Prakash Purab Diyan Samoh Sangathan Nu Beant Beant Vadhiyaan Hovan Jee.

Guru Nanak Dev Jee is the founder of Sikhi and the first Sikh Guru. Guru Jee came to this earth in 1469 in the village of Talwandi, now called Sri Nankana Sahib in Punjab province of Pakistan. One of Guru Nanak Dev Jeeโ€™s companions was Bhai Mardana Jee who played a string instrument called โ€œRababโ€. Guru Nanak Dev Jee wrote nearly 1000 hymns contained in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee, the Eternal Sikh Guru in the form of the Divine Word.

Guru Jee institutionalized the 3 pillars of the Sikh faith:
Kirat Karo - Earn an honest living
Naam Japo - Meditate on the Lords name

The occasion of the 400th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Jee Maharaj is a momentous occasion and an important juncture for all of us to inculcate the learnings from Guroo Saahebโ€™s life into ours. Guru Saaheb epitomized the vision of a just and an all inclusive society. The courage and compassion that Guroo Saaheb imbibed through his life journey are virtues all of us should uphold and benefit from in these times. Guru Teg Bahadur Jee sacrificed his life for the greater good by following the ideals of secularism and humanitarianism. Guroo Saaheb preached the conviction it takes to be indifferent to misery and happiness, to get rid of vices like flattery and allegation, and every other worldly pleasure. Guru Saaheb showed us all the path of divinity and Jeewan Mukti (salvation) through his life and how we can overcome greed, desire, ego and pain.
