GOD'S WORD FOR YOU TODAY
Mark 1:9-15
“The time has come. The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (v.15)
Jesus began His mission with the above words. "REPENT" means to reverse direction. The "KINGDOM OF GOD" is His loving rule over our lives. Instead of running to places that entrap us, Jesus says we can be ruled by God Himself, who lovingly leads us to new life and freedom.
We read in verses 14-15, "After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
Jesus realised the need for preaching the Gospel. And knew there is a vacancy now because of the imprisonment of JOHN THE EVANGELIST. SO JESUS USED THE TIME TO SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS OF SALVATION, AND A CALL TO REPENT.
REMEMBER, THERE ARE SEVERAL VACANCIES OF EVANGELISTS AND MISSIONARIES IN OUR COUNTRY. The Word of God reminds us, "THE HARVEST IS PLENTY, BUT LABORERS ARE FEW (Matt. 9:37). It also asks us, "THEREFORE, WHOM SHOULD I SEND, WHO WILL GO FOR US?"
As Isaiah responded, let us also say, "HERE AM I, SEND ME" (Isaiah 6:1-8).
GOD BLESS YOU AND MAKE YOU A BLESSING TO MANY OTHERS!

At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” At once the Spirit sent him out into the wilderness, and he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him. After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
