Sita-Rama glories

by Srimad Bhakti Nandan Swami Maharaj, Vrindavan
9.11.2024

So, we are right now, we are in the very beautiful Temple of Sita-Ramacandra, Laksmannjiu, Hanumanjiu, also Sri Gopaljiu-Bhagavan, They all in Vrindavana-Dhama, we cannnot be without the connection of Krishna, Gopal-Krishna, as we all know with the devotees all know, Sita-Ramacandra are none different from Radha-Krishna, Srimati Radharani and Krishna by the nature of tattva, I repeat, by the basic nature original nature of the advaita-jnana tattva, non-dual conception of the tattva, Sita-Ramacandra, Sri Sri Radha-Krishna are non different, Laksmi-Narayana, They all nondifferent.

So therefore, very often the high class pure devotees actually look into all of Them in non difference. Sometimes in through distinctive ways, sometimes through distinctive ways, through their distinctive characteristics of that of different lila, lila characters but knowing very well by the nature of tattva, fundamental tattva, They are one and same. Same Supreme Absolute, good Supreme Absolute Lord, God and Goddess. So, often some of the pure devotees actually they have darshan of Sri Sri Radha-Krishna in Sri Sri Sita-Ramacandra, also having darshan of Sri Sri Radha-Krishna and Sri Sri Sita-Ramacandra and vice versa. And Sri Sri Sita-Ramacandra in Sri Sri Radha-Krishna in non difference, that only difference manifesting, different lila forms, different kind of lila, lila forms, lila embodiments.

So, in relation to aprakrta-jugala, transcendental Couple, Sri Sri Radha-Krishna, we also fully love, we're also fully in love with Goddess Sita Devi, Supreme God Ramacandra, we simply love Them, also engage in our ecstatic devotional service, loving devotional service to Them all Sita-Rama Laksmannjiu, also including our guru-tattva Hanumanjiu, so much respect and our bliss the way as a similar way as we engage, as we continue to be engaging in the loving service of Divine Couple Sri Sri Radha-Krishna in non different relations with Them, we also Krishna devotees often engages in ecstatic loving service to Sita-Ramacandra, Laksmannjiu, all.

Here we also find Mahadevjiu, beautiful Shiva-linga Mahadevjiu, we know they all had intimate connections SadaShiva, Shiva-Sambhu Mahadevjiu, then Mother Parvati, Mahadeva with his with his wonderful wife Parvati, Durga Devi, Katyayani Devi so and there is very intimate relation between Mahadeva-Parvati, Sita-Ramacandra, Gopesha-Krishnacandra, Radha Krishna. So, They all have some specific special type of internal relationships. Mahadevjiu also, not just considered well respected to be the dhama-rakshakas, protector and guardians of all the dhamas, divine abodes of Their Lordships such as Vrindavana-dhama, Vraja-dhama, Navadwipa-dhama, Puri-dhama.

Therefore, everywhere in every dhamas, we always find some special manifestation, special representation of Mahadevjiu everywhere in Sridhama Vrindavana, Sridhama Navadwipa, Sridhama Puri nearby Puri also in Bhubanesvara. There always some manifestations, special representations of Mahadevjiu. In many of the Holy scriptures, we find Mother Parvati are the great narrators of the glories of the Supreme Lord, a great and glorious narrators, singers of the glories of Supreme Lord, Supreme God, Supreme Goddess. So, by some happy happenings now, we are here in this place, happy chance we are here.

Lord Krishna wants me also to speak the glories of His other forms Radharani-Krishna want me to speak the glories of Their other forms Sita-Ramacandra and their beloved pure devotee associate Shiva Shambu Maharaji, Hanumanji also here. beautiful Shiva Shambu Maharaji, Hanumanji are the unified examples, unified and topmost examples of heroic power, so much heroic strength and power, at the same time so much dedication to the Supreme Divine Lord. So much dedication, so much devotion through their Supreme Lordships, Divine God and Goddess, Krishna-Radhika, Narayana-Laksmidevi, Ramacandra-Sitadevi. At the same time, They have also been considered as devotee incarnations of Their Lordships, incarnation extension devotee forms, expansion They're so dear, so They receive all their power, great all their great potency, power from Their lordship from the Supreme Lordships ultimately.

They also engage in worshipping, small but beautiful deity of Gopaljiu here also, so that representation of Bala-Gopal-Krishna, so we find throughout the history some beautiful facts different devotees according to their innate nature, according to their innate nature, inner taste, some of them get engaged, become engaged in the loving devotionals worships and servic of Radha Krishna while some of them become engaged in the same loving devotional services to Sita-Ramacandra or Lakshmi-Narayan in different forms, in Their different forms of Their manifestations but ultimately, they reach the same Supreme Absolute Divine.

Being guided and inspired by Their sweet will because Their lordship, the Supreme Lordships also send special help, special gracious help, merciful help in the lives of those devotees and guide them from inside as Super Soul through the Caitya-Guru, to be intimately engaged to be closely engaged in Their loving devotional services and finally they also become well situated in relation to the Supreme Absolute Divine, guided inspired by their sweet will and as designed by their sweet will. Ultimately all the devotees reach this Supreme goal in their lives through their engagement of loving devotional worships to Their Supreme Lordships in different forms, through their different lilas and they also become, I mean, they are positing, they are positioning in their Eternal lila and service becomes also designed by the sweet will of the Divine Couple, their Supreme Lordships designed. And also, according to the taste of those pure devotees, who become inspired by their Caitya-Guru according to their taste, inner taste to be engaged in the loving devotional services to all different kinds of the forms manifestation of their Lordships.

But finally they reach the same tattva, because tattva is the same. they attain the Divine goal where all are unified in the tattva together Sri Sri Radha Krishna, Sita-Ramacandra, Lakshmi-Narayanjiu, all are unified in the same advaita-jñāna-tattva, tattva of the non-dual conception tattva of the Supreme Object of the non-dual realization, non-dual absolute realization.

How Srila Sridhar Maharaj celebrated his Vyasapuja?
By Srimad Bhakti Nandan Swami Maharaj

Today is the holiest day - the celebration of the appearance of his divine grace, Srila Bhakti Raksaka Sridhara Deva Gosvami Maharaja, my noble guru-pada padma. It should be mentioned that this is one of the most auspicious days in our life because today, on Krishna navami, a great exalted pure devotee of Sri Sri Radha, Krishnachandra and Caitanya Mahaprabhu has come to this earth to spread Their glory, to serve Them by example and also to he has brought so much higher divine benefit into our lives. Therefore, we should lovingly express our deepest gratitude to his divine grace for appearing here on Earth on this day. Our gratitude also goes to Sri Sri Radha-Madanamohana, Sri Sri Radha-Govinda, Sri Sri Radha-Gopinatha, Sriman Mahaprabhu, Nityananda and Pancha-tattva for sending their intimate companion to this world on this day to save us all and blessed our lives. We are deeply grateful to Them from the bottom of our hearts for showering us with such great mercy of arranging for one of Their most exalted devotees to descend here on Earth.

I remember that when the anniversary of his appearance came, we tried to prepare Srila Guru Maharaja. As you surely know, he was used to living very simply, without any luxury, in a completely spontaneous and natural way. But on this particular day, we tried to give to Guru Maharaj a very beautiful garland, and nice clothes to make him look nice and Guru Maharaj had to accept it. It was an ordinary day for him, but it was very special for us. He was always ready to go out in his ordinary clothes, but we lovingly urged him to kindly accept our service on this special day and wear the beautiful new clothes we had bought and dyed for him for the occasion. Guru Maharaj fulfilled our wish and put on a new shirt, a new uttarīya and everything else. Then we garlanded him.

In Srila Guru Maharaja's room on the first floor, there was a beautiful portrait of his Guru Maharaja, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada. Srila Guru Maharaj always insisted that the garland hung on this picture should contain rose flowers because Srila Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada was very fond of them, as well as lotus flowers. We picked the roses right in the garden of our Sri Chaitanya Sarasvat Math and Guru Maharaj was very particular that the garland for his Gurudeva contained at least one. Sometimes the whole garland was made of roses. He himself put a garland on the portrait with his own hands, offered more rose flowers, and bowed deeply and lovingly to his guru-pāda-padma and guruvarga, before going out of his room, accompanied by kīrtan.

Coming down from his room, he directly entered the magnificent temple of Sri Gauranga, Radha-Govindarasundarji, Giriraja and Varahadevji. He offered loving pranamas to the Deities in the temple and then circumambulated the entire temple. When he was old, he could not give the full daṇḍavat, but he used to bow down his head. Then he slowly sat down on the special platform that had been prepared there for his vyāsa-pūja. Before sitting down there, he made sure that all his spiritual brothers, who were always present at his vyāsa-pūja, were taken care of with love and respect, had beautiful garlands, and were comfortably seated. He took care of them with great care and love. Guru Maharaj sat in the middle, on the vyāsāsan and his spiritual brothers sat on his sides.

I remember that one time there was some mistake in dealings with one of his spiritual brothers. Guru Maharaja did not like this at all and became enraged: "My spiritual brothers are not being treated with due respect?" He could not tolerate this. Besides always welcoming and honouring his spiritual brothers, he also made sure that all the Vaishnavas who were present at the celebration were treated with due respect and loving care. Guru Maharaj was the epitome of Vaishnava conduct, he was the epitome of all Vaishnava principles, and he would occasionally mention to us that his vyāsa-pūjā meant that all worship was actually directed to his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhānta Saraswati Goswami Thākur Prabhupāda and guruvarga, and that he was only an instrument that receives worship in their name. In order to respect the traditional ways of vyāsa-pūja, he has to accept some pūja from his disciples, but in the ultimate sense, he accepts it as a transparent viamedia to offer all this worship to his glorious Gurudeva. Such was the principle of Guru Maharaja's vyāsa-pūja.

During the vyāsa-pūja Śrīla Guru Mahārāja spoke very enthusiastically about the glories of his Gurudeva - it was evident that glorifying him caused him great bliss. Guru Maharaja spoke Hari-kathā in the same style as Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura. Many of Guru Maharaja's spiritual brothers said that when they heard Hari-kathā flowing from Srila Sridhara Maharaja's lotus lips, they felt that they were hearing Hari-kathāmṛtam directly from their Guru Maharaja. That's how they perceived it. Guru Maharaj used to say that he absorbed the mood of Hari-kathā of his Guru Maharaj so much because he was a good listener. “When my Guru Maharaj was speaking Hari-kathā, I listened very carefully to catch each and every point. I would not like to miss any part of the nectar of the Hari-kathā that flowed from the lotus lips of my Guru Maharaja. I have absorbed his Hari-kathā deep in my heart, and so whenever I engage in Hari-kathā, it flows out naturally. Therefore, some of my spiritual brothers have the impression that they are hearing Hari-kathā from Srila Sarasvati Gosvami Thakura Prabhupada.” This points to the living relationship—sambandha-jñānam—between a great disciple and a great Gurudeva, a glorious disciple and a glorious Gurudeva.

Srila Sarasvati Gosvami Prabhupada said about Guru Maharaja that Srila Sridhar Maharaja is an expert in the knowledge of the scriptures. Śāstra nipuṇa Śrīdhar Mahārāj. Before giving him sannyās, he chose the name Bhakti Eka Raksaka for him - but then he found that the word 'eka' was not quite appropriate according to Sanskrit grammar, so he changed it to Bhakti Rakshaka Sridhara. Bhakti Rakshaka means protector of pure devotion. When Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Thakura declared that śāstra nipuṇa Sridhar Maharaja, that he is full of the knowledge of the holy scriptures and that he is versed in them, he meant that Srila Sridhar Maharaj has a deep realization of the meanings of the sastras. That is why he also later commented, “After I leave, I will leave behind qualified disciples who will continue to carry the pure stream of devotion of Rupa and Raghunath. I am happy to be sure that my highly qualified disciples will continue the purity of Rupa-Raghunatha Dhara.” He also mentioned that Srila Sridhar Maharaj is one of his foremost and dearest beloved disciples.
