As is the annual tradition before the summer retreat, it is customary to confer the ordination of Novice vow to new monks and the ordination of Bhikshus to senior Monks. This morning, in the main temple of the Bokar Ngendon Chokor Ling, before the radiant image of the Lord Buddha, extensive offerings were laid out. In the presence of venerable and learned monastic elders, the Great spiritual guide, Kyabje Khenchen Rinpoche, served as the combined abbot and preceptor, while a complete assembly of faithful monks presided. There were over one hundred vow-recipients monks from Bokar Monastery, Bokar Shedra, Bokar Thobsam Norling Garden of Wisdom, and the Phodang Karma Thupten Tashi Chokor Ling in Sikkim. Alongside this, His Eminence provided profound and extensive instructions on the importance of cherishing the foundation of the teachings, the precious discipline of individual liberation, as one would one's own eyes. This grand act elevated the prestige of the precious teachings of the Vinaya.

ཉེ་ཆར་ཕྱི་ཟླ་ ༧ ཚེས་ ༢ ཉིན་ཨ་རི་ས་གནས་ནེའུ་ཡོག་ཏུ་གཏན་གཞི་བྱས་པའི་འཛམ་གླིང་མཉམ་འབྲེལ་རྒྱལ་ཚོགས་ཀྱི་ལས་ཁུངས་མདུན། རྒྱལ་གཅེས་ལྷག་བསམ་ཅན་བོད་དོན་འཐབ་རྩོད་པ་རང་བཙན་བློ་དགའ་ལགས་ཀྱིས། བོད་རྒྱལ་ཁབ་དང་མི་རིགས་ཀྱི་ཆེད་དུ་གཅེས་པའི་རང་ལུས་མེར་བསྲེགས་བཏང་གནང་བར་གདུང་སེམས་མཉམ་བསྐྱེད་དང་། དམ་པ་དེ་ཉིད་ཀྱི་ཐུགས་རེ་ཇི་བཞིན་བོད་དོན་བདེན་མཐར་མྱུར་དུ་གསལ་བའི་ཆེད་དུ། དེ་རིང་འདི་གར་འདས་ཞག་བཞི་པ་དང་བསྟུན། གདན་སའི་བླ་སྤྲུལ་དགེ་འདུན་འདུས་མང་ཡོངས་ནས་བསྔོ་སྨོན་གསུང་གནང་གིས། འབོ་དཀར་བླ་སྤྱི་ནས་མཆོད་འབུལ་ཟབ་རྒྱས་ཤིག་གོ་སྒྲིག་གནང་ཡོད་པ་རེད།

Recently, on July 2nd, at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, where our community is based, the patriotic and noble Tibetan activist, Rangzen Lodga, self-immolated for the cause of Tibet and its people. In solidarity with his sacrifice and to fulfil his aspirations, today on the fourth day of his passing, the monastic community has convened to recite prayers and the Bokar Lachi has organized an elaborate memorial service.

ཚོགས་ཆེན་ལྷ་ཁང་ཆེན་མོར་རྡོར་ཆུང་བླ་མ་དབུ་བཞུགས་ཀྱིས་ཟབ་ཏིག་སྒྲོལ་ཆོག་བརྒྱ་རྩ། དཔེ་མཛོད་ཡང་སྟེང་གུ་རུ་ལྷ་ཁང་དུ་རྗེས་དྲན་སློབ་གྲྭའི་དགེ་སློབ་རྣམས་ལ་ཟབ་གཏིག་སྒྲོལ་ཆོག་གཞུང་བསྲངས་ཏེ་སྒྲོལ་བསྟོད་གྲངས་གསོག་གནང་བཞིན་པ་སོགས་སྔར་རྒྱུན་བཞིན་ས་ཟླའི་དུས་ཁྱད་པར་ཅན་དང་བསྟུན་སྤྱི་བྱེ་བསྟན་འགྲོའི་བདེ་རིམ་སྒྲུབ་གནང་བཞིན་པ་རེད།

At this monastery, in the temple dedicated to the Arya Taras, an extensive and elaborate offering of clouds of offerings is being presented. Under the leadership of Kyabje Khenchen Rinpoche, from the 1st to the 3rd of this month, His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Drodul Trinley Rinpoche, the crown jewel of the practice lineage of the teachings, has, with vast aspirations, composed a ritual based on the composition of the Karmapa tradition's Mandala of Tara by Zhawa Dmar Khaspyod Wangpo. This ritual, called "The Iron Hook that Attracts the Wealth and Prosperity of the Universe and Peace," will be performed for three days.

From the 4th to the 6th of the month, a ritual of the five-deity Tara, which was passed down from the great Indian siddha Ngulchu Vero to the first Karmapa, Dusum Khenpa, and is one of the five sets of sacred practices of the Dusum Khenpa, will be performed. This ritual, composed by His Holiness the Karmapa with reference to the ta***ic scriptures, Indian texts, and the instructions of the Karma Kagyu tradition, as well as with thorough corrections of the minor details of the practice, will be performed for three days. On the 7th, the Jowo tradition's Tara White, the Wish-Fulfilling Moon, will be recited.

In the main assembly hall of the monastery, under the leadership of Dorchung Lama, the Zaptig Tara ritual will be performed one hundred thousands times. In the Guru Temple on the upper floor of the library, the students and teachers of Bokar Memorial School will perform the Zaptig Tara ritual and recite the Tara hymn. As usual, these practices are being performed to benefit the teachings and beings, both generally and specifically.
