On 8 March 2026, the women of St. Francis Xavier Ferar Parish joyfully celebrated

International Women's Day, honouring the strength, faith, and dedication of women in our parish community. The celebration was graced by the presence and support of our parish priest Fr James D'Souza, Vice President Mr. Melwyn Albuquerque, Secretary Mr.Alwyn Saldanha, Animator Mrs. Priya Sequeira and Women's Association President Mrs. Reena Sequeira.

A heartfelt celebration appreciating the love, service, and commitment of all the amazing women of our parish.

The Annual Retreat was held at Ferar Parish from March 8 to March 9, 2025, during the holy season of Lent. It was a time of deep spiritual renewal and reflection for the parish community.

The retreat was led by Fr. Bonaventure Rodrigues from the Karwar Diocese, with the presence of our Parish Priest, Fr. James D’Souza. The faithful gathered in prayer, seeking God’s grace and guidance through powerful preaching, adoration, and spiritual exercises.

As part of the retreat, confession facilities were made available, allowing the faithful to experience reconciliation and spiritual healing. Additionally, counseling sessions were provided for those seeking guidance and support.

We thank the priests, and all who participated, making this retreat a meaningful and blessed experience. May the grace received during this time continue to strengthen our faith journey

On March 9, 2025, the Association of Women of Ferar Parish organized a series of engaging games for women as part of the Women’s Day celebrations. The event aimed to bring joy, unity, and empowerment to the women of the parish, fostering a spirit of togetherness and celebration.

The participants enthusiastically took part in various games, making the occasion lively and memorable. It was a wonderful opportunity for the women to showcase their talents, build friendships, and enjoy a day filled with fun and laughter.

We appreciate the efforts of the organizers and extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this event a success!

With hearts full of gratitude and joy, we celebrated the ordination of Dn. Jessel Pradeep Cutinha into the Holy Family Congregation on March 3, 2025. This sacred ceremony, presided over by Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha of the Mangalore Diocese, marked the beginning of his devoted journey in faith and service.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Vicar General Fr. Maxim Noronha, our Parish Priest Fr. James D’Souza, several other priests, as well as the family and relatives of Fr. Jessel. Their prayers and support made this moment even more meaningful.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Fr. Jessel Pradeep Cutinha as he embarks on this divine mission. May God’s grace continue to guide and strengthen him in his priestly journey.

After 41 years of dedicated service as a teacher and headmistress at St. Francis Higher Primary School, Ferar, Mrs. Lona Pinto has retired, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of excellence in education. Her commitment to shaping young minds, fostering discipline, and instilling values has had a lasting impact on both students and faculty.
