The mission movements started in 1980s planted hundreds of churches both in the rural and urban settings of India and the neighbouring countries felt the need of an Episcopal, Ecumenical, Evangelical meanwhile, a Biblical and Charismatic Church. Then, they all gathered together with several discussions in different levels and in different States of India and formulated an ecumenical body which eme
rged as a church, ie, the Christ Evangelical Church (CEC). The Christ Evangelical Church (CEC) gives more focus in biblical and contextual theological interpretation of the Scripture. The vision of the CEC is “to serve...not to be served” with seven biblical missions - Kerygma (Preaching), Didache (Teaching), Therapeuo (Healing), Koinonia (Fellowship), Liturgia ( Worshipping), Diakonia (Serving), and Martyria ( Witnessing).
