In Loving Memory of Very Rev. K. Y. Jacob
"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants." – Psalm 116:15
With profound sorrow and hearts heavy with grief, we mourn the passing of Very Rev. K. Y. Jacob, former Vicar of Jerusalem Marthoma Church, Kottayam—a shepherd whose love knew no bounds and whose legacy will echo through generations.
To our choir, he was more than a vicar; he was our pillar, our champion, our beloved Achen. In every note we sang, his encouragement resonated. In every initiative we undertook, his unwavering support sustained us. He stood beside us not merely as a leader, but as a father who believed in the power of music to glorify God and unite hearts.
His footprints are forever etched in our ministry. Achen was with us for our outreach initiative Oachira, stood alongside us as we constructed a house for the needy, and rejoiced with us during the mega program honoring our dear V. C. Cherian sir. He shared our laughter during the memorable choir picnic to Kannur and Kozhikode, and led us with compassion through the 2018 flood relief initiatives, teaching us that faith is revealed through service.
Achen gave profound importance to the music ministry, elevating every Sunday service and Jerusalem Family Fellowship with his deep reverence for worship. When the pandemic threatened to silence our voices, his visionary initiative in establishing JMC Media ensured that our ministry continued, reaching hearts beyond our church walls.
But what touched us most was his personal care—the way he knew each choir member by name, listened to our joys and struggles, and made us feel valued and loved. His office door was always open, his prayers always abundant, his belief in us unwavering.
Though our voices may tremble now with sorrow, we take comfort knowing that he has joined the celestial choir, singing eternal praises before the throne of grace.
Very Rev. K. Y. Jacob, your memory will forever be our melody, your love our harmony. Until we meet again in that great reunion, may your soul rest in perfect peace.
