St: George church Mamalakandam MAMLAKANDAM is a village in the North Eastern corner of Ernakulam District in the state of Kerala in South India. Ma'mala (Mountain's) kandam (Paddy fields).

Mamalakandam is a village in the North Eastern corner of Ernakulam District in the state of Kerala in South India. The name `Mamalakandam' is an amalgamation of three small words. This is to say, Mamalakandam is a meeting place of mountain, river, and land. The Church is committed to the down - trodden and the toiling masses. It cares for the needy in keeping with the Word, “Come to me, all you wh

o labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”(Mathew 11.28). The Church has been utilising its resources in charitable activities mainly in the fields of education, health and housing.The church which has a membership of more than 200 families is under the Kothamangalam diocese. It is governed in temporal matters by its own constitution but its spiritual matters are guided by the Bishop of Kothamangalam Diocese.
