Mary’s Cathedral is faith under St. Thomas Apostle. The Church have rich tradition from Royal Pakalomattom shifted from Paalayoor, Kuravilangadu Kudassanadu and to the Kundara, well known Vilayil Tharakan family during 17th century. The Vilayil Gothram established new church, the name is St. Thomas Jacobite Syrian Church in Arumurikada with the specified agreement from the Travancore King, the spiritual permission from the Divanisious Pulikottil. The Marthoma Syrian Christians established Salem Marthoma Church. The Rev. T.A. Thomas ordained as the vicar for Church, till his most service after buried in 1973. After the legation between Malankara Orthodox Church and Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, the church closed on January 1974. On this time, Rev. A.V. Zachariah of Kottayam led strong leadership, who strengthened the parishioners. He is good Priest from other church create the way of spiritually and the traditions of the parish church. The Royal Patriarch Ignatius Zakka First granted permission to use the ''Cathedral'' for the long tradition of this church.
