Kizhakke Bhagathu Appuppan Nada commonly known as 'Appuppan Nada' is the major Sub Shrine of Poruvazhy Peruviruthy Malanada Temple, which is situated @ Edakkad, Kollam. Kizhakkebhagathu Appooppan is the nephew of Malanada Appooppan, although annoyed and antagonized, is faithful to his uncle. He provides alms and shelter to all who seek solace from ‘Vallyappooppan’ and offers to ‘Vallyappooppan’ wh

atever he receives in return. It is believed that the nephew makes Malanada temple rich and prosperous. As bequeathed by ‘Valliappooppan’, ‘Kizhakkebhagathu Appooppan’ looks after Edakkad kara which is one among the seven karas of Malanada. Before Malakuda, ‘Kizhakkebhagathu Appooppan’ celebrates his annual festival on the 28th of Makaram every year, popularly known as ‘Uchcharam’
