"Sometimes we hear phrases like" it's my karma ", which are certainly very funny and colorful, but meaningless.
In fact, when we talk about karma we mean a complex system within which we can distinguish the karmic cause, the karmic tendency and a karmic relationship.
Everything we have done, said or thought, is recorded in our life in the form of a karmic cause.
From the point of view of the ten factors, our actions create an intrinsic power (nyo ze riki) that can manifest externally in the form of a new mental, verbal or physical action (nyo ze sa) that determines an internal cause (nyo ze in ) and a latent effect (nyo ze ka) that when they encounter an appropriate external cause (nyo ze en) becomes a manifest effect (nyo ze ho).
The karmic cause can be heavy or light.
Thanks to the principle of diminishing karmic retribution, through Buddhist practice we can transform the most serious causes and experience a lighter effect.
The karmic tendency is the manifestation of the continuous repetition of actions of the same type.
Karmic tendencies are the inclinations of character, personality, habits, behavior, how to react to external stimuli, talent, etc.
To change the karmic tendency it is necessary to act continuously, consciously and consistently.
For example, to establish the karmic tendency of Buddhahood, we must constantly practice, always doing Gongyo, reciting Daimoku, without neglecting the study, encouraging others, but not forgetting to accomplish our goals and overcome our problems. "
