Manu Smriti and Dr Ambedkar

Dr Ambedkar had done nothing admirable by burning Manu smriti. His act is never going to change the ill practice of caste system as it deeply rooted in the minds of masses. The only practical way to solve this problem was advised by Swami Dayanand way back before Dr Ambedkar took the step of burning Manu Smriti. Swami Dayanand rejected the adulterated portion of Manu Smriti which supports Castism, inferior status of womanhood and meat eating. He accepted the unadulterated portion pf Manu Smriti. Practically speaking it is the best solution. There is no harm in accepting the Relevant portion of Manu Smriti. Burning Manusmriti is equivalent to ignorance when in past someone was declared out caste from the society due to any wrong act and denied any opportunity to defend or correct himself.

If someone had interpolated wrong shlokas in Manu Smriti it’s not the fault of the original writer Manu Rishi but of culprit.

The best remedy to wipe out caste system is not by opposing the Manu Smriti or its writer but by removing the wrong portions of Manu Smriti.

This approach is practical as well as useful for the whole society.

Our aim is opposition of Caste system not the opposition of individual.
