ng. Something which will fill us up with ecstasy. We hardly know that source to this lies within us. Wise ones after having searched it in the external world look inside. When we look inside its then that our real nature is revealed as has been said हिरण्मयेन पात्रेण सत्यस्यापिहितं मुखम। तत्वं पूषन्नपावृणु सत्यधर्माय दृष्टये।। ईशावास्योपनिषद. And after acheiving this we have to relate ourselves to the outside world. This mission is established as a new universal pattern of monastic ideals to conditions of modern life based on essential truths of the Darshana found summed up with sufficient clarity in the Upanishads, the Gita and the Vedanta. These great sources of knowledge (the trio- called prasthana thrayam) form the text as it were on which all the systems of philosophy namely Advaita, Visishtadvaita and Dvaita were established- and have been interpreted differently by Sri.Sankaracharya, Sri Ramanujacharya and Sri Madhvacharya. We also believe that Jiva is Shiva—in the service of man lies the service of God. The beauty and charm of selfless love and service should not die away from the face of the earth. The world should know that a life of dedication is possible, that a life inspired by love and service to humanity is possible.One must not forget that if one serves the sick, the poor or any other person in distress, one would be following ‘practical Vedanta’ and offering prayers to God in the highest form as has been said आत्मनॊ मोक्षार्थम् जगद्धिताय च it means For one's own salvation, and for the good of the world. This movement gives equal importance to personal illumination {antar yatra} and social service which make this physical journey of existence meaningful in this Sansar. You are not to expect an explosion, for the explosion has already happened - at the moment when you were born, when you realized yourself as Being-Knowing-Feeling. There is only one mistake you are making: you take the inner for the outer and the outer for the inner. What is in you, you take to be outside you and what is outside, you take to be in you. The mind and feelings are external, but you take them to be intimate. You believe the world to be objective, while it is entirely a projection of your psyche. And that is all that matters—your life, yourself, your pettiness, your shallowness, your brutality, your violence, your greed, your ambition, your daily agony and endless sorrow—that is what you have to understand and nobody on earth or in heaven is going to save you from it but yourself."

"Now why is there any comparison at all? Why do you compare yourself with another? This comparison has been taught from childhood. In every school A is compared with B, and A destroys himself in order to be like B. When you do not compare at all, when there is no ideal, no opposite, no factor of duality, when you no longer struggle to be different from what you are - what has happened to your mind? Your mind has ceased to create the opposite and has become highly intelligent, highly sensitive, capable of immense passion, because effort is a dissipation of passion - passion which is vital energy - and you cannot do anything without passion.

If you do not compare yourself with another you will be what you are. Through comparison you hope to evolve, to grow, to become more intelligent, more beautiful. But will you? The fact is what you are, and by comparing you are fragmenting the fact which is a waste of energy. To see what you actually are without any comparison gives you tremendous energy to look. When you can look at yourself without comparison you are beyond comparison, which does not mean that the mind is stagnant with contentment. So we see in essence how the mind wastes energy which is so necessary to understand the totality of life.?

Once you realize that there is nothing in this world, which you can call your own, you can look at it from the outside as you look at a play on the stage or a picture on the screen, admiring and enjoying, but really unmoved. As long as you imagine yourself to be something tangible and solid, a thing among things, actually existing in time and space, short lived and vulnerable, naturally you will be anxious to survive and increase. But when you know yourself as beyond time and space, - in contact with them only at the point of here and now, otherwise all pervading and all containing, unapproachable, unassailable, invulnerable- you will be afraid no longer. Know yourself as you are- against fear there is no other remedy."

"The world is but a show, glittering and empty. It is and yet it is not. It is there as long as I want to see it and take part in it. When I cease caring it dissolves. It has not cause and serves no purpose. It just happens when we are absent-minded . It appears exactly as it looks, but there is no depth in it nor meaning. Only the onlooker is real, call him Self or Atma. To the Self the world is but a colourful show, which he enjoys as long as it lasts and forgets when it is over. Whatever happens on the stage makes him shudder in terror or roll with laughter, yet all the time he is aware that it is but a show. Without desire or fear he enjoys it, as it happens."
