The First American Missionary Rev.Campbell set his feet on the HANAMKONDA MISSION FIELD on 11th January,1879.Soon after, Rev.Albert Loughridge established the Telugu Baptist Sangham on 4th January,1880. It was a humble beginning with twelve native believers who could only exercise their rustic faith at the feet of the Lord and were taught to just depend on the Saviour Jesus for each and every need
.They have sown in tears and in this generation, we are reaping in joy. The first extension of the Heritage building was carried out in the year 1956 during the shepherding period of Rev.J.D.Edward.The Church was rechristened as CENTENARY BAPTIST CHURCH, HANAMKONDA upon celebrating its 100 years Landmark in history when Rev.T.Reuben was the Pastor. A NEW CHURCH building was planned to accommodate the steadily growing number of worshippers. A plan was unveiled in the year 1990 and the Ground breaking for NEW SANCTUARY was done by visiting Missionary Mrs.Naomi John S.Carman on 10th March,1991 & foundation stone laid on 27th October,1992.It took more than 12 years to complete the estimated structure Rs.1.28 crore till the time it was dedicated for the Glory of God on 9th January, 2005 by Rev. during the shepherding period of Rev.Dr.G.J.Niranjan Babu.All finances & other resources were raised indigenously. The Church at that time was celebrating its 125th Anniversary.Now it is 135 years in the progressive journey of its faith preparing itself for the 2nd Advent of our Lord and Saviour who has promised to return in all His Glory & Splendor
