(This group is created by old students of Shri Murugha Math) This Group aims to bring all the Sharanas of Shri Math on one platform.

Shri Murughamath (1917) is one of the prestigious and holy Maths in Karnataka (India) established by Shri Mrutyunjay Swamiji in Dharwad with the blessings and direction of his Master Shri Athani Shivayogi Swamiji. The Math initially sheltered 23 students (the boarding now known as Shrimann Niranjan Jagadguru Murugharajendra Prasada Nilaya) in 1917. Shri Mrutyunjay Swamiji (1888-1964) helped a larg

e number of students from other areas to pursue college education at Dharwad and also helped boost the number of studnets in the Karnatak College (the only College in Bombay Karnataka established in 1917 by some eminent Lingayat educationists and social workers). Thus the Karnataka College and the free boarding of the Swamijiwent hand in hand in promoting higher education in Bombay Karnataka. Poojya Mrutyunjay Swamiji, who looked after the studnets residing in the boarding with a mother's care and affection, was a great source of inspiration to those students. He used to give not only moral education through his preaching and practice but also used to exhort the students to work hard and to come up well in public life. The Math sheltered poor students accross the state and helped them pursue their education. The successor of Shri Mrutyunjay Swamiji, Shri Mahant Swamiji, also continued the tradition of Dasoha. Today the Math is headed by Shri Mallikarjuna Swamiji on the path blessed by two great Swamijis of the Math. This Holy Math has made all its students to be a responsible citizens, good human beings and a successful professionals. The Sharanas (students) of this Math are doing a great job contributing their service, accross the globe, in various prestigious institutes/companies. The alumni of this Math have created a group on Facebook. 'Murughamath Sharanas' is a group of students to whom the Math gave food, shelter and social repect in their student life. Hence, the Sharanas can introduce the products (classmates, seniors) of this Math, share their old memories, photos, incidents, impressions, contribution et al. Note: The past and present students/sharanas of Murughamath can only become member of this Group.
