As announced yesterday, we are bringing you the complete coverage of the holy occasion (happens only once in 12yrs) - The Kumbabisheka/Maha Samprokshana to "Kunti Katti Hanuman Devaru" (கு்ளக்கரை ஸ்ரீ ஆஞ்சநேயர்) temple in the Mada Street at Triplicane, Chennai.

🌿 About the Temple bound Mutt (Managed by Sri Pejawara Adhokshaja Mutt, Udupi)

The Pandurangashram serves as a spiritual retreat and temple space where devotees gather for prayers, bhajans, and religious observances.

🌸 Role of Pandaribhai’s Donation

* Smt. Pandaribhai (known for their charities and a veteran actress), a devotee with deep faith in Lord Panduranga, is remembered for her philanthropic donation that enabled the establishment of the ashram in Saligramam.

* Her contribution provided the initial resources for building and maintaining the temple space, ensuring that devotees in Chennai could access a dedicated shrine for Panduranga worship.

* This act of generosity is considered a foundational moment in the temple’s history, as it transformed the idea of a small devotional gathering into a permanent spiritual institution.

* The donation is often spoken of in the community as an example of bhakti expressed through dana (charity), aligning with the Hindu tradition where temples are sustained by devotee contributions.

The temple is part of the Saligramam–Vadapalani area, which is a vibrant residential and cultural hub in Chennai. Do visit and have a wonderful blessed moment.

Know about a Legend: Late. Pt. Baburayanpet Nagaraja Rao (a.k.a Gundu Mama), was the chief priest of their ancestral constructed temple (by their Grand Father Late. Shri Baburayanpet Srinivasachar). Their service to the Dwaitha Philosophy as books, published and few were preserved as drafts is remarkable. They were one of the most fond shishya/devotee of His-Holiness Sri Satyatma Theertha Sripadangalavaru (42nd Guru of Srimad Uttaradhi Mutt Samasthanam). Pt. Shri. Nagaraja Rao (known by B.Nagarajan) is a self learnt scholar, proficient in 8 languages. Their contribution is never mentioned, unless someone forces to mention their name in the credits section. The most interesting and popularly released "Sri Sudha" magazine was originally found and authored in 3 languages initially by them. Later was handed over with the press releases to another, for the authoring the same. 🙏

This Anjaneyar Temple in a corner of Hanumantharayan Koil Street, Triplicane is more than 200 years old. This street was a Agraharam hub of Madhawa Brahmins 200 years ago and even now continues to do so. The temple was consecrated in the year 1794 by Sri Sathyasandharu 25th pontiff of Sri Uttaradhi Mutt. The main deity Mukya Prana Anjaneyar in granite stone is 19 inches tall with folded hands in standing posture in a place 9 feet by 7 feet in dimension is a Swayambu(self-originated form), was experienced by Baburayanpet Pundit Sri Srinivasachar. It was renovated in the year 1910 during the reign of 30th pontiff of the Mutt. The present structure was constructed in the year 2000. Sitting in front of the Anjaneyar and doing meditation for a few minutes you feel rejuvenated and away from your worries.
