THE IRONY OF LIFE.

One thing i have learned in life and i continue learning is never to despise or treat anyone with scorn. Everybody needs somebody at one point in time. King Solomon the wisest and wealthiest man that ever lived had this to say, "To everything there is a season , A time for every purpose under heaven:" Ecclesiastes 3:1) NKJV.
Remember pop corns are normally fried in the same pot, in the same oil, at the same time and under the same heat condition, but they do not all pop at the same time. When flood comes like we are witnessing in most parts of Kenya, fish eat ants and when flood recedes, ants eat fish. Only time matters. To make soap, oil is required. But to clean oil, soap is required. This is the irony of life.
You need not complain why your state is not changing. Keep trusting and waiting on God. Your time to pop will soon come.
Cheer up!!!!!

Things that Distract us From God's Calling.

When it comes to fulfilling our calling, what matters is what God wants us to do. Paul said: "Whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ" (Philippians 3:7).
Position is a distraction. Not many of us know that when you accepted Christ you became somebody, no wander everybody wants to be somebody. Position is good but if you are seeking position independently of God's purpose, you have been duped by the deceiver. Your name may be up in lights today, but years from now people won't remember your name. Remember the apostle Paul was quite a man in his day and age, but he said that his claim to fame was only that he was a bond-servant of Jesus Christ.

Living for people may become a distraction too. People are very important to God; we are to serve, love, and minister to people. But pleasing God is more important than pleasing men. God wants us to live for Him and His glory, and to do that we must sometimes go against what other people want.

Dealing with the past another distraction. Paul said: "I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I d forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:13-14). We all have regrets, but Paul said we are not to allow our yesterdays to determine our tomorrows. Instead of living with a rear-view mirror mentality, we should focus on the windshield and the big picture that is in front of us.
Shalom!!

Just want to take this opportunity to thank all our near and dear friends that stood with us in prayers last week while on a journey mission to Eldoret, Uasin Gishu country in Kenya. On Friday we took time to witness and celebrate with relatives and friends in a wedding ceremony. Saturday i joined other church leaders in encouraging newly married brothers to soldier on in their married life with Jesus Christ at the center.
Sunday we were honored to minister in one of the newly planted churches on the outs-carts of Eldoret town. We challenged the church to hear God's voice and be ready to say with prophet Isaiah; "Here am I! Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8) NKJV.
On Monday as a brother in the Lord was driving us back to Nakuru, we were nearly involved in a serious accident but the Lord saved is. We reached Nakuru safe and whole to the glory of God.

MISSION TO DR CONGO

This Saturday 2nd April 2016 by God's grace i will be travelling to DR Congo. I am invited to minister in THE APOSTOLIC/PROPHETIC LEADERSHIP SUMMIT in Butembo city, North Kivu of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In regard to this, there is this principle that blesses my heart." As his part is who goes down to the battle, so shall his part be who stays by the supplies; they shall share alike". (1 Samuel 30:24). In the scripture quoted above the soldiers who fought in the war didn't want to share the spoil with those who stayed behind to watch the supplies. But David declared, He established this as a rule in Israel. Those who manned the supply lines were just as important as those who fought in the battles.
This principle is true in our present day ministry and missions. Not everyone can go into the ministry or travel to a foreign land to do missionary work. Some people stay back and take care of the supplies. Missionaries couldn't go share the Gospel if they weren't people back home supporting them with finances, and with prayers and logistic support the way some of you are already doing with us.

I believe with all my heart that in God's economy, those who support are just as important and just as rewarded as those who go out and declare the Gospel. When you get to heaven, don't be surprised if some people come running up to you and thank you for their being saved. "You supported the missionary who led me to Christ. I am your kid! I am here because you stayed with the supplies". Jesus said, "He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophets reward".(Mtt 10:41) NKJV. Thus, if we help those who are ministering for the LORD, we will be rewarded as collaborators with them.

This is why it is such a blessing to support those who go to the mission field. Maybe i can't go to Asia or some other remote place where the Gospel needs to be preached; but if i can help support someone who does go there, with prayers and financial support' it is as if i went myself. I am then a " fellow worker for the truth"
It is true we face challenges in missions but, as somebody said, what lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lives within us.
Charles Swindoll says; " Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we respond to it".
Sometimes God may lead us into the hardest zones to do ministry or even give to His work. However, once we commit ourselves completely to the Lord, recognizing that everything we have comes from Him and belongs to Him, then giving oneself to God becomes a natural outgrowth of that realization.
Paul commended the Macedonian Christians, who had given so generously to the Jerusalem church' despite the fact that they were not very well off. He said; ".....they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God".(2 Cor 8:5). This generosity was a great thing, but their generosity started when "they first gave themselves to the LORD".

In this respect we are asking for your prayers and support and at the same time thankful to God for all of you that are already sacrificing to see that "...this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come" (Mtt 14:24). Shalom!!

THE QUESTION OF STABILITY

I have never seen a day in which people need stability like they do today. More people are going for help and counsel than ever before.
There are two things upon which this stability is based: God’s constant presence and His mighty power. David wrote: “I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand i shall not be moved." (Psalm 16:8) NKJV.
Stability is based not only on God’s constant presence, but upon His power to sustain us when we can’t take another step.
When Socrates was on his death bed, one of his disciples asked him: “Shall we live again? He replied, “I don’t know. I hope we will, but I simply do not know.”
Real peace is found only when we know what’s going to happen to us when we die (2 Cor. 5:6-9).
When we read that, do our hearts express the same kind of confidence? Are you confident that when you die, you will be with the Lord?
Think about it as you celebrate this RESURRECTION SUNDAY.

Paul's instruction to the Colossian church is worth noting. “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”(Colossians 3:2).
It is said that life is too short to waste time on things that have no lasting value or significance.
Precious time should not be wasted on things that will not actually guarantee your future? Its high time we stopped running for things that are not going to be stored in our heavenly account? Treasures on earth do not offer any permanent security! Beloved, such treasures have their habit of disappointing their owner.
So, shun spending so much of your time, energy and focus on things does not even add and multiplying to your life? The promise of God you are carrying is much more important than anything else in this world. Make a choice and stop sacrificing your future for your present.

How Can You Be Sure of God's Calling?

God's calling is not necessarily spoken to you in a booming voice from heaven, telling you exactly what to do? You do not open your mailbox one day and find a mysterious letter with your calling written on it either? How do you i then discover and be sure the Lord is calling me?

Praying, reading the Bible, meditating, talking with godly friends, and patient listening is the best method to hear from God.
God has always been ready to equips each of us with unique spiritual gifts to help us in our calling. Romans 12:6-8 (NIV): gives us a good list of these gifts.

"We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully."

God's revelation of our calling to us is gradual over the years not instantaneous. As we use our talents and gifts to serve others, we discover certain types of works that feel right. They bring us a deep sense of fulfillment and happiness. They feel so natural and good that we know this is what we were meant to do.
Sometimes we can put God's calling into words, or it may be as simple as saying, "I feel led to help people."
Jesus said, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…" (Mark 10:45,NIV).
If you take that attitude, you'll not only discover your calling, but you'll do it passionately for the rest of your life.
