In time, destiny found its way back to her, and she was united with King Nahusha, just as Maa Parvati had once foretold.

Have you heard of the Pardeshwar Shivling?

Unlike most Shivlings made from stone, the Pardeshwar Shivling is traditionally made from Parad (mercury). Ancient texts associate Parad with Shiv Ji and also mention the worship of Rasa Linga. A lesser-known night tradition of Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga 🌙

It is believed that after travelling through the three worlds, Bhagwaan Shiv Ji comes here to rest with Maa Parvati. After the final aarti, a sacred shayya is prepared inside the garbhagriha, along with a damru, fan, and chaupar.

According to local belief, Bhagwaan Shiv Ji and Maa Parvati play chaupar here at night. This tradition is followed throughout the year and holds even deeper significance during Sawan.

The origin of Naag Devtas is one of the most fascinating stories in Sanatan Dharma.

According to the Mahabharata, the Naag lineage traces back to Kadru, wife of Rishi Kashyapa. She laid one thousand eggs, from which powerful Naagas such as Sheshnaag, Vasuki and Takshaka were born. Much later, when King Janamejaya’s Sarpa Yagya threatened to destroy the entire lineage, Rishi Astika intervened, stopped the sacrifice and saved the remaining Naagas.

Celebrated this year on 17 August, Naag Panchami is a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards Naag Devtas, nature and the balance that sustains life.

The correct vidhi to do Rudrabhishek or Jalabhishek at home.👇🏻

Jalabhishek is the simple offering of clean water to the Shivling, while Rudrabhishek combines the sacred abhishek with Shiva mantras and paath.

Here is the step-by-step vidhi:
1: Begin by remembering Ganesh Ji with devotion and take a sankalp for the puja.
2: Prepare a Parthiv Shivling with clean clay or use an existing Shivling.
3: Start the Jalabhishek by offering clean water to the Shivling.
4: For Rudrabhishek, offer Panchamrit made with milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar.
5: After offering Panchamrit, bathe the Shivling again with clean water.
6: Offer Bel Patra, flowers, and other traditional offerings.
7: Chant “Om Namah Shivaya” 108 times.
8: Recite the Rudrashtakam or Rudra Paath and conclude the puja by praying to Shiv Ji with devotion.

As Sawan begins on 30 July, roads across India come alive with chants of “Har Har Mahadev.” Carrying sacred Gangajal for Shiv Ji, Kanwariyas walk for days through rain, exhaustion, and difficult terrain.

Each step is part of a sacred sankalp, completed with discipline, tapasya, and devotion to offer the holy water to Mahadev. While different traditions share different stories about the origin of the Kanwar Yatra, they all reflect the same timeless spirit of unwavering faith and complete surrender to Shiv Ji.
