Statement By Ruhullah Mehdi The conduct displayed by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, publicly pulling at a Muslim woman’s burqa, is indefensible and deeply disturbing.

He owes the woman and the public an unconditional apology.

This erratic conduct is alarming and points to a man who no longer possesses the composure or mental clarity required for constitutional office. Seeking medical attention and stepping aside is necessary.

Admission Open!!!
ISLAMIA MODEL PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL, HABLISHI, hosted CRAFT DEMONSTRATION-CUM-AWARENESS PROGRAMME today on 21 November 2025 under the MOUTH Scheme, bringing students face-to-face with Kashmir’s rich handicraft traditions. The event was sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and organised by the Handicrafts Service Centre, Anantnag.

The programme aimed at exposing students to the skills, discipline, and history behind Kashmir’s famous crafts. Artisans demonstrated techniques used in papier-mâché, wood carving, Sozni embroidery, and other traditional crafts. Students didn’t just watch—they interacted, asked questions, and tried their hands at basic techniques, giving them a genuine appreciation of the skill required.

The CDAP also highlighted the importance of preserving handicrafts in a world increasingly driven by mass-produced goods. Resource persons explained how craft-based livelihoods support thousands of families in Jammu & Kashmir and why young people should understand—and respect—the economic and cultural value of these traditions.

Jammu & Kashmir’s Economy After 6 Years of Article 370 Abrogation
1. Growth Slowed Down
Before 2019, J&K’s economy was growing at a better rate.
Real GDP growth (actual growth after removing inflation) dropped from 6.91% (before 2019) to just 3.97% after 2019.
The national average is 8.24%, much higher than J&K.
2. Per Person Income Growth Also Slowed
Growth in per capita income (average income per person) fell from 6.3% to 4.46%.
The national average is 6.67%.

3. Unemployment Is a Big Problem
Unemployment reached 23% in March 2023, stayed at 17% in 2024.
Among youth (15–29 years), over 30% are unemployed — twice the national average.

4. Fewer Jobs and Industries
The number of workers in industries fell to the lowest in 10 years.

Factories also decreased — now even fewer than in 2016-17.
5. Investment in J&K Dropped
New investment projects have slowed down.
Capital investment dropped by half since 2016-17.
Private investment interest has gone down.

6. Credit (Loan) Access is Very Poor
Credit to GDP ratio in J&K is just 6.36% – this means people and businesses are not getting loans.
In comparison, it’s 55% in Maharashtra and 42% in Karnataka.
7. Inflation Still High
Prices of goods have continued to rise, hurting poor and middle-class people.
8. Government Debt and Fiscal Deficit Are Rising
Debt is high and the government is spending more than it earns.
Financial health of J&K is weaker than the national guidelines.
⚠️ Summary for the Public
Promises of more development, industries, and jobs after ending Article 370 have not come true.
Growth is slower, jobs are fewer, and businesses are struggling.
The economy of J&K is not keeping pace with the rest of India.
