If you happen to be looking for a guide to read through Scripture leading up to Easter, we’d love to have you join us as we read through The First Breakfast! It’s a 40 Day journey through Scripture with Jesus and Peter through calling, brokenness, and restoration.

And in the book, we look closely at the ministry of Jesus, paying special attention to His journey to the Cross, so we love to use it as way to prepare our hearts leading up to Easter.

Beginning Day 1 of the 40 Day journey today will lead you through the events of the last days of Jesus, the Last Supper, Good Friday and Resurrection Day as we mark those significant days in real time, in our own lives in the coming days, even into the week after Easter.

There is a short reading each day, so if you have the book already, feel free to read along or grab the book link below and jump in at any point! The portrait of Jesus in these passages of Scripture is truly life-changing, and seeing the beautiful color photography by Hannah Elizabeth Stories
of where these events in the life of Jesus took place is so meaningful! After the book was published, to our wonder and amazement, the Lord orchestrated a trip to Israel for us to stand in the very places we’d studied and written about. This picture was taken at the Sea of Galilee, on the very surreal day we visited the site of Day 1 of the journey, holding the book open to Day 1 of the journey.
We’ve been changed forever by Jesus, walking closely with Him through these Scriptures... We’re expectant for what He might want for us in these particular days, and thanking Him that He’ll be with us at every step! Let us know if you end up on the journey too!

“Come and see what God has done.” (Psalm 66:5)
If your soul needs to remember, if you need to see the heart of the Father again, come and journey through the story of Jesus and Peter. Their relationship is such a picture of God’s heart for redemption and restoration for each one of us. His love stretches further than our minds can imagine, and our weary souls find their rest in Jesus alone.

As we set our hearts on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, many people look for a meaningful way to move through God’s Word during the season of Lent. We love hearing from people that read through The First Breakfast during these sacred days leading up to Easter! If you are looking for an Easter reading plan to posture your heart toward the great rescuing, redeeming love of Jesus, join us on this 40-day journey!

The First Breakfast is an invitation... and it’s a journey with Jesus that can happen anytime, as the Scripture follows Jesus and His relationship with Peter through calling, brokenness, and restoration.

And if you begin the 40-day journey this Wednesday, March 3rd, the reading will guide you through passages about His ministry, Holy Week, the Last Supper, Good Friday, Resurrection Sunday, and then beyond. And each day’s Scripture reading, especially those during Holy Week, will match up to reflect the experiences of Jesus, as we remember, observe, and celebrate those corresponding days ourselves on the Church Calendar. And we love that we get to carry our reading all the way through the week after Easter!

There’s still time to grab your book and read along with us, or with your family, or small group!
The portrait of Jesus in these passages of Scripture is truly life-changing! And seeing the beautiful color photography from Israel, of where these events in the life of Jesus took place is so meaningful! Let us know if you’ll be following along on the journey these next 40 days!

We are missing gathering for our With You Ministries Seder experience this year. But it’s in the remembering that we rest, and we can each do that from wherever we are the next few days.
You might already know just how powerful the words of Jesus are, the night He gathers with His disciples at the Last Supper…but if you want to remember again, the life-changing, life-giving words of Jesus, read along with us.

In these unprecedented days of social distancing, how can we still “be with?”

We texted a life-long friend this morning, who is an ER doctor in another state. She is headed in to work a 9-hour shift in the CoronaVirus Unit of the ER. She’ll spend the rest of today in respiratory isolation rooms caring for the already sick, and those who need testing. There’s no way to know what this could mean for her and her family, but we were brought to tears thinking about her bravery and selfless courage. As most of us settle in at home, this dear friend, and so many like her, will continue to literally walk right into it.

Once again, if we look beyond ourselves, we’ll see “the helpers” serving bravely and selflessly, just like Mr. Rogers told us they’d be.
We are thinking of ways to serve and show gratitude to those who are showing up to do holy and sacred work today.

We’re starting by praying for this friend every hour, on the hour, during her shift today.
In the middle of it all, there is beauty, courage, and hope. We’re grateful for so many doing hard things to serve their communities today.
Praying for healthcare workers serving despite the risk, grocery store employees stocking shelves and working checkout lines, teachers streaming online instruction, people working tech support and navigating unchartered territory, pastors shepherding their flocks online, first responders still responding to ongoing needs, schools and restaurant workers finding ways to still get people food, and the countless people in all different places, working hard in all different ways today. Praying for those feeling fear and anxiety in the uncertainty, and for those wondering what the coming weeks may bring if they aren’t able to work and bring in income.
We’re praying that God opens our eyes to see ways we can show our gratefulness and how we can best “be with” the people in our communities in these days.

What are some of the amazing stories you’ve heard? In the comments, let us know some of the ways you are seeing people continue to say, “I’m with you...”

“The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light.
They lived in a land of shadows,
but now light is shining on them.” Isaiah 9:2

It’s Day 1 of The First Breakfast 40-Day Easter reading plan, and we watch with expectation as God’s great story of redemption unfolds. The light of Jesus has come to shine in the darkness, and make a way for all, back to the Father’s heart.

Let the 40-Day journey begin! We emailed out a FREE Group Discussion Guide for The First Breakfast. If you’re reading along and you’d like that resource too, just email info@withyouministries, and we’ll get it to you!
