During Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot, families across Israel will gather around their holiday tables. For many, however, the joy of the season comes alongside a very real worry: How will we afford everything we need?

This year, we hope to come alongside 1,000 families and help make that burden a little lighter.

Through Home of Jesus the King, we are preparing 500 Rosh Hashanah food packages and 500 Sukkot packages for people in need—including elderly people living on small pensions, new immigrants beginning again in Israel, and parents doing their best to provide for their children.

As Arab Christians in Israel, there is something especially precious to us about blessing our Jewish neighbors during the biblical holidays. Our humanitarian assistance is always given freely according to need, regardless of faith or background. We simply want people to know that they are seen, they are valued, and they have not been forgotten.

As the sound of the shofar is heard across Israel and we enter a new biblical year, we want to take a moment to wish you and your family a good, sweet, and blessed New Year.

May this be a year in which you know God’s presence more deeply, experience His faithfulness in every season, and find fresh strength and hope for the road ahead. May He fill your home with His peace, guide your steps, and open new doors for you to be a blessing to those around you.

Here in Israel, we are also praying for our nation and our region—for peace where there has been conflict, comfort for those who are hurting, healing where there has been brokenness, and greater love between people and communities.

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, my God.” — Psalm 42:1

Standing beside the rushing waters of Fall Creek Falls in Tennessee, I was reminded of something important: we often come to God’s Word because we are thirsty. We need comfort, direction, hope, and strength.

But the Word of God is more than water for a weary soul. Paul calls it “the sword of the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:17).

When fear tells you God has forgotten you, His Word answers with truth. When discouragement says there is no hope, His promises speak louder. Yeshua showed us this in the wilderness. When the enemy came, His answer was already there: “It is written.”

Don’t wait for the battle to begin filling yourself with Scripture. Drink deeply from His Word today. Let it refresh you, strengthen you, and prepare you to stand.

The same Word that gives you water for your soul also places a sword in your hand.

🇮🇱🇺🇸 The Bridge That Strengthened Me

I traveled to America hoping to bring encouragement, but something beautiful happened along the way: America encouraged me.

During my time in Florida, Texas, and Tennessee, churches opened their doors, families welcomed me into their homes, and brothers and sisters prayed, worshiped, shared meals, and laughed with me. Thousands of miles from the Galilee, I was reminded again that the Body of Messiah truly is a family.

As an Israeli Arab pastor and follower of Yeshua, it was also a privilege to share what God is doing in Israel beyond the headlines—Jewish and Arab believers following Yeshua, congregations serving their communities, and bridges being built across old dividing lines.

One thing became especially clear to me: a bridge carries something in both directions. I came hoping to strengthen others, but I returned home strengthened myself.

To everyone who welcomed me—thank you. I carry your encouragement home to Israel.

🇮🇱 A Different Picture of Israel

Recently, Pastor Saleem sat with Timofey, a young Jewish Israeli serving in the army whose family has been receiving practical assistance through our Humanitarian Aid Center.

When asked what he thought about Arabs helping Jews, Timofey gave a wonderfully simple answer: “What does it matter who? What matters is that people are helping people.”

At Home of Jesus the King, we long to see relationships like this grow across Israel. Through our Humanitarian Aid Centers, we serve Jewish and Arab families, new immigrants, elderly people, and others facing hardship. Assistance is always given freely according to need, regardless of background or beliefs, with no spiritual conditions attached.

What motivates us is the love of Jesus. He teaches us to love our neighbor, cross boundaries, and see the person in front of us.

We cannot heal every division ourselves. But one act of kindness, one friendship, and one family at a time, we can help build bridges of reconciliation.

🍎 A Place at the Table: Blessing 1,000 Families for the Biblical Holidays

Across Israel, families are preparing for Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot—two meaningful biblical holidays filled with family, tradition, and remembrance of God’s faithfulness.

But for many of the families we meet through our Humanitarian Aid Centers, there is another question behind the celebration: How will we afford the food for the holiday table?

This year, we want to stand beside 1,000 families—500 for Rosh Hashanah and another 500 for Sukkot.

As Arab Christians in Israel, there is something especially meaningful to us about blessing our Jewish neighbors during these days. Jesus taught us to love our neighbor, and we want that love to become visible through practical action.

A box of groceries may seem simple, but to a struggling family it can say:

We remembered you. Your family matters. You are not alone.

Our Rosh Hashanah packages will include essential groceries along with traditional items such as honey and sweets, helping families welcome the Jewish New Year with dignity and joy. We will then prepare another distribution of essential foods for Sukkot.

Sometimes God brings people together in ways we could never plan.

Recently, a Jewish friend of Pastor Saleem who serves with the municipality called him with an unusual request. His Arab Christian friend, Shadi, had been seriously injured in a motorcycle accident and was in Rambam Hospital. The injuries were devastating, and doctors had been forced to amputate his leg.

“Would you come and pray for him?”

Pastor Saleem immediately said yes.

At the hospital, he sat with Shadi, encouraged him not to lose hope, prayed with him, and gave him an audio Bible. That same day, after surgery and prayer, Shadi was able to get up with assistance for the first time and begin taking some steps forward in his recovery.

But then came another surprise. Shadi’s father arrived—and Pastor Saleem recognized him as a close friend from his younger years.

Suddenly, there they were: a Jewish man who cared enough to make the call, an Arab pastor who came to pray, and the son of an old friend who desperately needed encouragement.

For us, this is a beautiful picture of the Israel we pray for.

Jesus calls us to love our neighbor, and sometimes that love begins very simply—with answering a phone call, showing up at a hospital, praying for someone who is hurting, and refusing to allow the divisions around us to determine whom we will love.

Please join us in praying for Shadi. Pray for strength and courage as he begins this new chapter, for healing and successful rehabilitation, and for God to surround him and his family with His peace and lead them in His perfect path.

May the love of Jesus continue building bridges where the world so often sees only division.

🌾 What happens when we are truly filled with the Word of God?

Standing among the fields near Nazareth, Pastor Saleem shares a simple picture from nature: as wheat fills with grain, it becomes heavy and bends down. But the empty w**d remains standing tall.

It is a beautiful reminder of what God desires to produce in us.

The more we are filled with His Word, the more it should lead us toward humility—not pride. Our faith is not about knowing more than others or appearing more spiritual. It is about allowing God’s Word to take root in us and shape the way we live, love, and serve.

May we be people who are full of His Word and humble before Him.

“Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” — Matthew 23:12

In just a few days, children across Israel will walk through the school gates ready for a new year. But for some families facing financial hardship, providing even the basic backpack and school supplies their children need can be a real burden.

Through our Back to School Project, we have already been able to provide backpacks and school supplies to children from Jewish and Arab families, as well as new immigrants beginning their lives in Israel.

And there are still children we hope to reach before the first bell rings.

For a child, receiving a new backpack and the school supplies they need means beginning the year prepared and able to walk into the classroom just like everyone else. For a parent carrying financial pressure, it means one less burden on their shoulders.

Many children are already prepared for their first day because of your generosity. But with only a few days left before September 1, we want to reach as many more children as we can.

Every backpack and set of school supplies prepared means another child can begin the school year feeling ready, encouraged, and included.

Our humanitarian assistance is given freely to people in need regardless of their background or beliefs. Our faith motivates us to serve our neighbors with compassion, dignity, and practical love.

If the Lord places these children on your heart, there is still time to help another child begin the school year with what they need.

When the first bell rings on September 1, may hundreds of children walk through those school gates prepared and encouraged, knowing through this simple act of kindness: "I was not forgotten."

Sometimes a simple smile tells a much bigger story.

Marina regularly receives assistance through Home of Jesus the King’s Humanitarian Aid Center in Haifa. During her latest visit, she looked at us with a big smile and said:

“I’m very happy to be with you again and to receive help… I’ll see you again. Thank you very much.”

Her words are simple, but they represent what we hope our Humanitarian Aid Centers can be: places where people facing hardship receive practical help while being treated with dignity, kindness, and genuine care.

In Haifa, we serve both Jewish and Arab Israelis according to need, regardless of their faith or background. In a land where communities can sometimes feel separated from one another, compassion can quietly build bridges. An open door becomes a conversation. A conversation becomes trust. And over time, strangers can become friends.

Our faith motivates us to serve our neighbors in this way. As Scripture reminds us:

“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18
