Toward Jerusalem Council II Europe

Toward Jerusalem Council II Europe TJCII is an initiative of repentance and reconciliation between the Jews and Gentiles.

“Toward Jerusalem Council II” is an initiative of repentance and reconciliation between the Jewish and Gentile segments of the Church. The vision is that one day there will be a second Council of Jerusalem that will be, in an important respect, the inverse of the first Council described in Acts 15. Whereas the first Council was made up of Jewish believers in Yeshua (Jesus), who decided not to impo

se on the Gentiles the requirements of the Jewish law, so the second Council would be made up of Gentile church leaders, who would recognize and welcome the Jewish believers in Yeshua without requiring them to abandon their Jewish identity and practice.

Yesterday evening Shavout has started. This is far more than a historical feast - it reveals G-d’s heart for unity, covenant, and for hearing His voice.

Celebrated fifty days after Pesach, Shavuot marks the giving of the Torah at Sinai and the outpouring of the Ruach HaKodesh in Jerusalem. What happened in Acts 2 was not a new festival, but a deeply Jewish, covenantal moment, taking place during Shavuot among Jewish disciples of Yeshua and Jewish pilgrims gathered from the nations.

The miracle of tongues was not simply many languages being spoken but that people heard “the mighty deeds of G-d” in their own mother tongues. Where Babel brought division through human ambition, Shavuot revealed true oneness through alignment with the God who is One.

This moment shows God’s pattern: not replacement, but drawing near. Jews remain Jews, the nations remain the nations but they all are invited, through Israel’s Messiah, to share in one Shepherd, one Spirit, and one source of life.

Shabbat Shalom!

In this week’s double parsha, Behar–Bechukotai (Leviticus 25–27), God introduces the concept of the Jubilee Year (Shnat Yovel) the 50th year when the shofar is blown and freedom is proclaimed throughout the land. Debts are cancelled. Slaves are released. What was lost is restored. Jubilee is God’s divine reset.

At the heart of these laws is a powerful truth: “The Israelites belong to Me.” (Leviticus 25:55). An Israelite could fall into poverty and even sell himself into service, but he was never permanently owned. God built redemption into the law. A servant could be redeemed through the kinsman-redeemer (goel) - a close relative who could buy back land, freedom, and inheritance. Redemption literally means to buy back.

These points us to the greater redemption. Humanity sold itself under sin, but we were never meant to remain there. Messiah Yeshua stepped in as our Kinsman-Redeemer. He paid the price, declared our release, and restored what was lost.

When Yeshua announced the beginning of His ministry, He applied this Jubilee promise to Himself, saying:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
because He has anointed Me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the captives
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
(Gospel of Luke 4:18–19)

His work proclaims true freedom - the Jubilee, the year of grace.

In this short clip, Rev. Brian Cox reminds us that true reconciliation begins in the heart.

“Peacemaking is not simply negotiation… it begins with God changing hearts.”
This clip is taken from a longer teaching in which Brian explains that reconciliation—between Jewish and Gentile believers, and within the wider Church requires God’s transforming work in each of us. Without softened hearts, lasting peace isn’t possible.

This message reflects the very heart of the Toward Jerusalem Council II: healing historic divisions through humility, listening, and God-led transformation.

This short statement comes from Richard’s Harvey reflection on replacement theology which is part of TJCII Cornerstone Course now available for free on YT. It stopped me in my tracks.

So much of our theology is shaped often unconsciously by replacement theology, and its influence goes far beyond how we read biblical passages about Israel. It affects how we understand who God is, how we see Jesus as both fully human and fully divine, and even how we tell the story of salvation history itself.

If Israel is pushed to the margins, something essential is lost not only about God’s faithfulness, but about the very way God has chosen to reveal Himself in history.

If you are interested to hear more! We really encourage you to watch on YT the full video on replacement theology which is part of TJCII Cornerstone Course. It offers a careful, humble, and deeply biblical invitation to rethink long-held assumptions and to rediscover the Jewish roots of our faith.

Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat Chol HaMoed Pesach reminds us that the journey from redemption to promise often passes through the wilderness. Israel was delivered from Egypt, yet the desert became a place of testing, refining, and learning to rely on God rather than themselves. Discouragement followed them there—and it still follows us today.

The wilderness is where faith is shaped. It’s easy to lose heart when hope feels dry and distant, but Scripture shows us that God often does His greatest work when everything seems lost. Like the vision of dry bones coming back to life, restoration begins when God breathes His Spirit into what feels dead.

Yeshua’s disciples knew that same despair after the crucifixion - unaware that Hope Himself was walking beside them. Even when we can’t see it, God is present, guarding our souls and leading us through the wilderness.

Our ultimate hope is not in our strength, but in Yeshua - our Living Hope and the promise of resurrection.

Wishing you a meaningful Passover and a joyful Easter. Whatever feast you celebrate, may the life, redemption, and resurrection found in Messiah Yeshua bring hope and peace to your heart.

Today Passover begins, a season that calls us to remember not only what God did long ago, but what He is still doing in our lives today.

Passover teaches us that remembrance is personal. In every generation, each of us is invited to see ourselves as if we personally came out of Egypt. God revealed Himself there as the One who sees suffering, hears cries, and acts to redeem. He did not simply rescue His people from slavery; He brought them into a covenant relationship with Himself, inviting them to trust His love and faithfulness through every generation.

For those who know the Messiah, this remembrance grows even deeper. When we look at Passover through the light of Yeshua, the familiar symbols speak with renewed meaning. The spotless lamb, declared innocent even by earthly authority, the cup of redemption shared at the table, and even the quiet absence of the lamb today all point to Him - the true Passover Lamb who gave Himself for our freedom. From Abraham on the mountain, where God provided the sacrifice, to the moment Yeshua spoke of a new covenant in His blood, God has been revealing His heart: He Himself would complete the work of redemption.

May this Passover draw us into deeper awe, gratitude, and shalom - the peace and wholeness that comes from knowing our Redeemer lives and remains faithful.

Chag Pesach Sameach.
