Burt Presbyterian Church

Burt Presbyterian Church First Minister ordained September 1673 but Presbyterian worship existed in Burt prior to 1673. Sunday Worship 9.45am from 26 July 2020

Burt P C is a member church of the Presbytery of Derry & Donegal which is part of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. It was a member of the Old Laggan Presbytery when the first minister Rev Wm Hampton was ordained in 1673 but Presbyterian worship existed here prior to 1673. His son Rev John Hampton emigrated to USA in 1704 and settled in Snow Hill, Maryland.

Following our Carol Service on Sunday 7th December Dr Craig Wilson and members of the Congregation made a presentation to James Buchanan who has retired as Clerk of Session after 50 years service. Group includes Hilary Griffith, Ivan Peoples, Rev Joe McCormick, Mary McArthur, Gordon Elder, Jayne Buchanan, David Canning, Rev Jim Lamont, Rev Dr Bert Tosh, Rev Dr Craig Wilson and Robert Buchanan.

Rev Craig Wilson and James Buchanan presenting cheque for €4,500 to Donegal Hospice from Burt Presbyterian Church. This sum was collections taken up during our 350th Anniversary year and also from receipts from the sale of the History of Burt Presbyterian Church which was written by James Buchanan in September 2023.
