Our brothers and sisters in Bangladesh are suffering from devastating floods that have displaced and impacted millions. The Cork Islamic Cultural Centre is raising funds to provide much-needed relief. Please donate through our virtual donations box and help us reach as many victims as possible.

A Call to Generosity for Our Brothers and Sisters in Gaza

As we conclude our Jumaa prayer today, let us reflect upon the teachings of our faith that guide us towards compassion and generosity. Allah SWT says in the Qur'an: "The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills." (Qur'an 2:261)

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also reminded us of the importance of supporting one another in a Hadith: "The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity." (Al-Tirmidhi)

In the spirit of these teachings, we urge you to extend your generosity to our brothers and sisters in Gaza. Your contributions, whether in cash or via the Gaza donation box in TheMasjidApp, will serve as a beacon of hope and solidarity. Let us come together as a community to support those in need, for every donation, no matter the size, will be multiplied in blessings by Allah SWT.

Urgent Humanitarian Appeal for Gaza

Since the onset of the Zionist aggression on 7th October 2023, the plight of our Palestinian brothers and sisters in Gaza has been heart-wrenching. Over 22,000 lives have been tragically lost. Homes have been destroyed, leaving the vast majority homeless, and the entire population is teetering on the brink of famine. Families subsist on a single loaf of bread a day, while contaminated water is all that is available to many. In refugee tents, rainwater floods in, and diseases are rapidly spreading.

🌟 "And what you give for interest to increase within the wealth of people will not increase with Allah. But what you give in zakat, desiring the countenance of Allah - those are the multipliers." - Quran, 2:276

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Tirmidhi)

Dear Community Members,

As we witness the heart-wrenching situation in Gaza, the Cork Islamic Cultural Centre calls upon you to join hands in a vital fundraising campaign. This initiative is in response to the recent tragic events that have left many without homes and resources.

In the spirit of our faith, we are reminded of the words from the Holy Quran: "And whatever you spend in good, it will be repaid to you in full, and you will not be wronged." (Quran 2:272). This verse inspires us to act generously and selflessly in the face of adversity.

We are also guided by the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said: "The believer's shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity." (Al-Tirmidhi). This Hadith encourages us to give charitably, reflecting our compassion and empathy towards those in need.

In partnership with Human Appeal (Humanappeal.ie), a renowned humanitarian organization, we are dedicated to collecting donations that will be used to provide urgent aid to the people of Gaza. Our efforts now will hold even more significance as we await the easing of border restrictions, under the hope that international pressure will allow the aid to reach those who desperately need it.

Announcement: Urgent Appeal for Cork Islamic Centre Roof Replacement

Alhamdulillah, our community has come together and so far, we have raised €9450! This is approximately 14% of our target goal for the roof replacement of our beloved masjid.

Allah says in the Quran: "The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills." (Quran, 2:261)

While we are grateful for the contributions made, the journey is still long. The masjid roof urgently needs our support. We must not delay. Every euro brings us closer to ensuring our place of worship remains intact for years to come.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) reminded us: "The most beloved of deeds according to Allah are the continuous ones, even if they are little." (Sahih al-Bukhari)

As many of you know, our community's safety and comfort are our top priorities. Given the current weather forecast predicting rain on our scheduled date, we've made the difficult decision to postpone the Family Fun Day. It's crucial for us that everyone can participate fully and comfortably in all activities planned.

While this is disappointing, fear not! We're committed to providing a day full of joy, connection, and community spirit. We are currently identifying a new date, which will be a non-rainy Sunday, and will communicate this as soon as possible.
