Since the Covid pandemic in 2020, Dean Cliff Jeffers has led Online Bible Studies in the four Gospels, Acts, Romans, and several of the smaller Epistles. This winter we are going to explore the story of some of the main Old Testament characters using the Epistle to the Hebrews. The writer of Hebrews assumes that their readers are familiar with the Torah (first 5 books of the Bible). As we are not as familiar as the intended reader of the book of Hebrews, we are going to familiarise ourselves with the story and characters of the Torah, in order to make sense of Hebrews. We will take it at a leisurely pace, so it is likely that this is going to take us from September to Easter. Although this sounds complicated, it will be suitable for people who would like to join with no previous Bible Study experience. Our Online Bible Study resumes on the 22nd of September. 8-9.15pm using Zoom.

Rev. Terry Mitchell is the Further Education Officer in our Diocese. He looks after the Certificate in Christian Studies, which is an accredited course that prepares people for Lay Ministry or part of the studies to be an Ordained Local Minister (OLM). Many people also do this course to develop their own spirituality and understanding of the Church and Christian faith. Not everyone wants to sign up for the two year commitment to the Certificate in Christian Studies course. This autumn we are offering two other opportunities for Christian Discipleship.
A four week online course called ‘Opening our hearts to the riches of God's grace’ led by Rev. Terry Mitchell on Wednesday nights starting on the 7th of October from 8-9.30pm.
Opening our hearts to the riches of God's grace - a four week online course as we explore ways to grow deeper in our walk with Jesus. We will look at these four areas:
· Opening our hearts to God
· Listening to the Divine Whisper
· The fruits of the Spirit
· Speaking words of life and power
The course will be delivered online and will conclude with an in person service of worship and a meal (Location and date/time to be arranged to suit those who are on the course.)
