Parish Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine

​Join Bishop Denis Nulty & the Kildare & Leighlin Diocese

​We are delighted to invite the parishioners of Kilcock and Newtown to join us for a day of prayer, reflection, and community at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Knock. Sunday, 7th June 2026
​Departure: 08:45 from in front of the Church.
​Return: Approximately 17:00.

​The Day’s Itinerary
​Upon arrival, pilgrims will have personal time to explore the peaceful grounds of the Shrine. You are welcome to:
​Visit the various Chapels, Gift Shops, and Book Store.
​Avail of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession). Eucharistic adoration and rosary.
​Attend the Main Mass Ceremonies at 14:30 in the Basilica, followed by the Anointing of the Sick and a Procession.

DART+ DEPOT PROJECT:PUBLIC CONSULTATION
The plans for the construction of a depot for the DART+ have been published and can be viewed on dartplus.ie/ One of the most significant and concerning elements is the proposal to create up to 30 additional car parking spaces at the Fair Green. This would result in a major alteration to the Fair Green and the Market Cross is to be removed from the centre. The Fair Green dates back to the Norman era in the 12th century where fairs and markets were held until their cessation there in the 1950s. This site is an example of legacy heritage that should be preserved in its current form. Submissions on this should be directed to Irish Rail.
