📖 Listening to Scripture — St Mark’s Gospel.

For anyone interested in listening to the Bible, David Suchet’s reading of the New International Version (NIV) offers a thoughtful way to hear and reflect on Scripture.

Having begun with St Matthew’s Gospel, we now move on to St Mark’s.

Suchet’s complete NIV Audio Bible is also available through Apple Books and other audiobook services.

A beautiful thought and prayer from Saint Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick, for anyone who may need a little light and encouragement tonight.

Every night at Saint Mary’s Cathedral, a little light shines in the darkness.
For those who are struggling, grieving, feeling alone or simply finding life difficult, may it be a quiet reminder that hope can still be found in the darkness and that you never walk alone.
🙏 A Night Prayer
God of light and hope,
watch over all who struggle this night.
Bring peace to troubled hearts,
comfort to those who grieve,
and light to those who feel surrounded by darkness.
May we remember that you are with us,
through the darkness and into the light.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
🕯️ May the light of Christ shine upon you this night.

We have set up a team for Epilepsy Ireland’s walking challenge called 'The Holy Striders', representing our parish, running through this month of September.

This is a flexible event meant for all paces—you can walk and log your miles individually in your own time, or we can also arrange to come together as a group for parts of it for a bit of company!

Here are our goals for this challenge:

• Team Distance Goal: A collective 60 miles (approx. 97 km) as a gentle starting baseline for the group across the month, with plenty of room to stretch our legs further if we're feeling up to it!

• Fundraising Goal: €200 to start with—a modest, pressure-free target to get us going, though we can easily aim higher if we build up some momentum!

You can sign up to join our team or make a donation by following this link: https://fundraising.epilepsy.ie/join/holystriders

Every step and every euro helps support Epilepsy Ireland. If you're interested in joining in or want to know about potential group strolls, drop a comment below!
