Cuimhním-se orthu siúd atá cráite.

The second edition of this powerful and deeply moving collection by Dr Ciarán Ó Coigligh.

This unique volume brings together 684 haiku poems — 342 in English and 342 in Irish Gaelic — composed in remembrance of the 342 members of the Orange Order who lost their lives during the last terrorist campaign. Each haiku follows the traditional 5–7–5 structure, capturing the essence of each life and loss with care and dignity.

Dr Ă“ Coigligh, an emeritus professor of Gaelic language, literature and civilisation and former President of Newman College Ireland, is an award-winning author whose work spans poetry, fiction, drama, and scholarship. His lifelong dedication to Irish language and culture is reflected profoundly in this collection.

💛 All author royalties from this edition will go to the South East Fermanagh Foundation (SEFF) — supporting those affected by violence, including the bereaved, injured, and traumatised.

This is more than a book — it is an act of remembrance, reflection, and solidarity.

The Chain of Office of the Lord Mayor of Dublin is a striking piece of civic regalia, notable for the inclusion of a portrait of King William III within its design.

Originating in the late 17th century, commissioned by King William III the chain reflects the political symbolism and Dublin loyalty embedded in civic office at the time of its creation. Such ceremonial objects were crafted not only as insignia of office but also as statements of allegiance and governance.

In the words of W.B Yeats:

"The Battle of the Boyne overwhelmed a civilisation based on religion and myth and replaced it with intelligent laws"

Today, the chain stands as a significant historical artefact, preserving the visual language and traditions of Loyal Orange Dublin’s municipal history through its craftsmanship, symbolism, and enduring ceremonial role.

Dublin & Wicklow Loyal Orange Lodge are custodians of this Dublin Orange Heritage.

A reflection on the Kings Speech by our Secretary.

Once again, the King’s Christmas speech was full of the same ecumenical claptrap our nation has come to expect, a blending of all religions and ideologies into one warm and fuzzy humanism, treating every path as though it leads to God. Yet the Bible is clear: not all faiths are equal.
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
Christmas is NOT about “our shared values,” “different faith traditions,” or generic “light overcoming darkness.” It is about the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, the only Saviour of sinners.
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11
The King called on communities of all religions to unite, but Scripture warns us:
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers…” 2 Corinthians 6:14

Blending truth with error doesn’t strengthen the truth, it destroys it. The world celebrates a harmless baby, but ignores the King of Kings who will one day judge the living and the dead.
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…” Philippians 2:10–11
Let us reject this modern push to place man-made religions on the same level as Biblical Christianity. There is one God, one Gospel, one Hope, and His name is Jesus Christ.
This Christmas, let’s lift up Christ alone, not a watered-down, politically acceptable version of faith, but the true Gospel that saves.

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:14

He is not just a symbol. Not just a baby.
He is the Saviour we must trust and the Lord we must obey.

Heavenly Father,
We lift up King Charles before Thee. We pray that his eyes may be opened to the truth of Thy Word, that he might come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his own personal Saviour and put his complete trust in Him alone.
Lord, remind him of the solemn oaths he made at his Coronation, to uphold the truth of the Holy Scriptures and to defend the Protestant Reformed Faith of our nation.
Grant him boldness to stand for Christ, wisdom to lead with righteousness,
and grace to proclaim the Gospel without compromise.
We ask all this in the precious name of
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dublin & Wicklow LOL 1313 extend their warmest congratulations to Most Worshipful Brother Harold Henning on his election as Grand Master of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland.

We also offer our sincere gratitude to Brother Edward Stevenson, outgoing Grand Master, for his steadfast leadership and dedicated service.

“Here’s to Dublin’s steadfast stand,
Where ancient freedoms still command;
To brothers bound by loyal thread,
And truths our fathers proudly spread.”

“Here’s to the city by the Liffey’s side,
Where faith and courage long abide;
To honour kept through trial and test—
For God, for Crown, we give our best.”

“Raise the glass and let it ring,
For Ireland’s cause we proudly sing;
May steadfast hearts and purpose true
Guide all our steps in all we do.”

M.W, Bro, E.D Stallworth (1876)

New Lodge Banner

The blue and navy are the Royal Charter Colours granted to the City of Dublin by Elizabeth I.

The portrait is of General Cutts, who served William from the very beginning, landing with him at Torbay. He was buried in the graveyard of All Saints’ Church, in an area once known as “Hell” beside Christ Church Cathedral. The church was demolished in the 1880s to make way for Lord Edward Street, so his remains now lie beneath the street or one of the nearby buildings.

The salamander in the design is a reference to Cutts, nicknamed “the Salamander” because he was always in the thick of battle—just as the creature itself was said to withstand fire.

The lilies and other flora represent our shared kingdoms, but they are also found in Dublin’s coat of arms. Likewise, the three burning castles symbolize the passion Dubliners hold for their city and the saltire of the Cross of St Patrick. The Crown signifies Dublin brethren loyalty to our Sovereign King Charles III.

The French Huguenot bleeding heart, set within a white rose, recalls the heritage of many brethren in Dublin and Wicklow whose family names trace back to the Huguenot refugees of the 17th century who settled in the "Tenters" area of the city.

New Lodge tie for Dublin Orangemen, the navy and light blue colours where granted by Queen Elizabeth I under the City Charter and the fire from the castles denote the passion in which the citizens of Dublin hold for their city. The Crown indicates the loyalty, Dublin brethren hold for their Sovereign King Charles III and our British Heritage. Dublin & Wicklow represents the unbroken line of Loyalism in the City from 1795 to 2025.
