๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰Wishing Fr. Joe many congratulations as he celebrates 42 years since his Ordination Day. Over the years, Fr. Joe has served many parishes and of course was a huge part of St. Brendanโ€™s College here in Killarney where he taught for so many years.

We are delighted to have Fr Joe with us in Killarney over the last number of years, and we wish him many years of health and happiness ahead as he continues in his vocation. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ After a wet morning, the clouds cleared and the sun broke though long enough for us to celebrate a โ€˜dryโ€™ Mass in St. Johnโ€™s Cemetery. Fr. Vitalis presided over the annual Mass where we remembered those gone before us. May they all rest in eternal peace. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

31/05/2026

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ On Saturday night, we celebrated a very special evening in the Cathedral - all couples in the area who are celebrating significant wedding anniversaries this year - from 25 years right up to 61 years!! - gathered together to attend Mass, which was celebrated by Fr. Kieran Oโ€™ Brien. It was a moving and emotional ceremony, where the couples took the opportunity to renew their marital commitment to each other. There was a gathering afterwards where people shared stories and memories - it was a magical night filled with prayer, nostalgia and love .โค๏ธโค๏ธ

As a parish we congratulate these couples and wish them many more years of happiness together. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ What a wonderful testament from Faye - a junior cert student in St Brigidโ€™s, about her recent trip to Lourdes with the Order of Malta. Faye is one of our young readers in the Church of the Resurrection and we are very proud of her. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Faye's trip to Lourdes
Hi, my name is Faye, and Iโ€™m a third-year student. I recently travelled to Lourdes with the Order of Malta on pilgrimage, and it was a truly amazing experience. I decided to go because I wanted to help others, grow in my faith, and experience Lourdes for myself after hearing so many positive stories about it.
The sanctuary is breathtaking and filled with beautiful basilicas. My favourite was the exterior of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary because of its incredible architecture and the colourful murals surrounding it. Being in the sanctuary made me feel very connected to my faith. The town itself is lovely, with friendly people, beautiful scenery, great food, and lots of shops and places to explore.
I had the privilege of working in the Accueil Notre Dame hospital, where I helped to care for the malades (sick pilgrims). Through the Order of Malta, I was also involved in special events such as the candlelight processions and international masses. The whole experience was surreal, and I had the opportunity to meet people from all over Ireland and around the world.
I think people should consider going to Lourdes because it is a wonderful way to grow closer to their faith while also helping others. The atmosphere is peaceful, welcoming, and uplifting. Lourdes is a beautiful, scenic, and lively place, and it is truly an unforgettable experience.
