As C/Man of FOOCG I wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who have supported FOOCG since our Group was formed in Nov2024.
Cash Donations, Go Fund Me Donations (from across the Globe) donations of Tools/Equipment etc has been tremendous.
As well as the generosity of everyone, the expressions of gratitude, comments on how well the Old Church Graveyard is looking is a great morale boost to all of us in the Group.
Up to Friday 31st Aug 2026, the Group, with the assistance of theTY Students of Cobh Community College & CYMS we have painted approx 470 Grave Railings/Chains etc.
The cost of the paint to date is approx. 2500.00, which does not include Paint Brushes & White Spirit, and there are still a few Railings to be painted.

The stories beneath the stones.Every graveyard has stories to tell. We are delighted to have volunteer Niall McAuliffe sharing some of the interesting stories of the people who lie at rest in the Old Church Graveyard Cobh. Through his research and storytelling, Niall will help us look beyond the names and dates carved into the headstones and discover the people behind them- who they were, where they came from, and the lives they lived.Keep an eye on the page for more of Niall’s stories 👀

What a fantastic turnout for today’s tour at the Old Church Graveyard ,given by Allan Farrell. Allan enthralled and entertained everyone with his fantastic knowledge and stories, making it a truly memorable experience for all who attended. It was great to see so many people there.
