Great work done today by graveyard CES worker Jonathan. His hard work, dedication and attention to detail is really paying off,with the paths in the graveyard looking fantastic. Many thanks also to Cork CoCo local depot for supplying the gravel.

Some fantastic work being done recently by our team of dedicated volunteers, especially Eoghan Andrew and Eddie. Paths have been resurfaced and edged, iron work painted and this previously unkept grave monument returned to its former glory. Bualadh bos lads.

We were delighted to welcome Deputy Noel mcCarthy TD to the graveyard this morning, and update him on the progress made by our group so far, and our plans for the future. Deputy mcCarthy was very complimentary on the overall appearance of the graveyard, and looks forward to regular updates on our progress going forward.

Our volunteers were making full use of the magnificent weather this morning when they were approached by a family that were so grateful of their efforts, that they made a very generous donation towards the cost of materials. While the family wish to remain anonymous, we would like to sincerely thank them for their kind words and financial support.

We had the pleasure today of giving a talk on the rich history and heritage within the graveyard to the transition year students of Colaiste Muire. We would like to sincerely thank their TY coordinator for the invitation to visit the school and look forward to this group joining our volunteers for some maintenance work in the coming weeks. We would also like to thank the students from Cobh Community College and the Cobh YMCA group, including their teachers and leaders for their continued support and help during their weekly visits.

Our volunteers are busy this morning giving the paths a much needed top coat of fresh gravel. This is in preparation for the visitor season but particularly the upcoming Lusitania tragedy commemorative ceremony in May.

Many thanks to the TY students of Cobh Community College who did fantastic work today painting the ornate iron work surrounding some of the graves. We look forward to working with this group, and others, in the future.
