We had a lovely day with our new GK Juniors. All these young people have been Confirmed this year but have now signed up to get involved in our parish. As a thank you and to get them off to a good start, our Youth Ministry team hosted a fun retreat day for them all.

The death has occurred of Hannah Burke (nee Byrne) Aged 90. Ardenteggle, Ballickmoyler, Co. Laois on the 28th May 2026.
Formerly of Freneystown, Castlewarren, Co.Kilkenny.

Hannah passed away peacefully in the loving care of the Sacred Heart Hospital, Carlow.

Predeceased by her parents William and Ellen, her husband Edward (Ned) her sisters Statia, Kathleen, Mary, Brigid and brother Johnny.

Deeply regretted by her loving children John, Billy, Kathleen and Eamon, Johns wife Martina, Billy’s partner Eve and Kathleen's husband Des.

Her brother Jimmy and his wife Betty, her brother Patsy and her sister in law Marie.

Her adoring Grandchildren Cathal, Áine, Ella, Ciarán, Caoimhe, Ailbhe, Aoife, Hannah and Erin.

Her extended family, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

May Hannah Rest in Peace.

Hannah will repose at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Square, Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) on Saturday May 30th, from 3pm concluding with Prayers at 7.45pm that evening. Removal from there on Sunday at 1pm to The Holy Cross Church, Killeshin, arriving for Funeral Mass at 1.30pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery
