🛝 Project 4 – The one we've been waiting for....
New Playground at DBCP

We are thrilled to confirm that all funding is now in place to deliver the new playground this year.

This project was initially placed in jeopardy due to inflationary increases, leaving a funding shortfall of €32,000. However, through the hard work and determination of Cllr Adrian Forkan, members of DBCP, and Mayo County Council, additional funding was secured.

We would like to sincerely thank Cllr Adrian Forkan for his tireless efforts in securing a total of €122,000 for this project, with a significant portion coming directly from his own County Councillor allocations through GMA/LPS funding.

Special thanks also to Peter Gill, Parks Superintendent with Mayo County Council, for his hard work throughout the design and procurement process.

We would also like to thank every individual and business who contributed towards this project. DBCP successfully raised €110,000, bringing the total playground investment to €232,000.

Creative Playground Solutions have been awarded the contract, with works set to commence in August 2026.

🌿 Durkan Community Park – National Spring Clean 2026 🌿



Durkan Community Park is taking part in An Taisce’s National Spring Clean Anti-Litter Campaign.

All volunteers are very welcome to join in. You can help by litter-picking throughout the village or by tidying up your own road or townland.



🗑️ Collected bags can be taken to the central location for disposal.
