Facebook gives people the power to share and makes the world more open and connected. MAGiS adalah program pendampingan bagi orang muda berbasis Spiritualitas Ignatian. Keberadaan magis di indonesia dimulai dari program yang dirangkaikan dengan World Youth Day di Sidney, Australia Juli 2008, sehingga awal dari magis indonesia adalah magis08. Program semacam ini sudah terlaksana sejak WYD di Paris, Roma, Toronto dan Cologne (MAGiS05). Magis adalah salah satu semangat spi-ritualitas Ignasian yang berarti melulu memilih yang lebih demi semakin luasnya pelayanan dan semakin besarnya kemuliaan Allah. Spiritualitas Ignasian adalah cara hidup dan cara berelasi dengan Allah yang diwariskan oleh St. Ignatius Loyola. Ignasius mengajarkan kepada kita untuk memandang dunia dengan mata Yesus Kristus. Cara pandang ini membantu untuk me-mahami bahwa asal dan tujuan hidup kita adalah Allah, Sang Pencipta. Bagi Ignatius semua ciptaan yang ada di dunia adalah sarana untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut. Selanjutnya, di hadap-an aneka sarana tersebut kita diajak untuk meneliti keinginan-keingingan pribadi lalu mem-pertimbangkan dan memilih sarana yang sesuai dengan kehendak Allah. Intinya adalah, kita diajak untuk ”mengatur hidup”. Buku Latihan Rohani adalah warisan Ignasius tentang bagaimana mengatur hidup tersebut. Magis Indonesia tersebar dimana-mana, dari Yogyakarta, Bandung, hingga Jakarta dengan total anggota lebih dari 100 orang sejak dimulainya di tahun 2008. Magis terlaksana berkat kerjasama lima Konggregasi yang menghidupi spiritualitas Igna-sian yaitu Society of Jesus (SJ), Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ), Society of the Sacred Heart (RSCJ), Loreto Sisters (IBVM) dan Religius sisters of Charity (RSC). Program ini diperkenalkan di Indonesia oleh Edward Shuttleworth (koordinator program) dan Jenni Winters (direktur pembinaan) pada bulan Maret 2007. Program MAGiS dilandasi oleh tiga pilar yaitu persahabatan, kerohanian dan pelayanan. Persahabatan : komunitas memberi kesempatan agar tiap anggota dapat menjalin persahabatan dengan saling menerima, mendukung dan berbagi pengalaman. Kerohanian : membantu anggota membangun relasi cinta dengan Allah. Mereka dibantu me-ngenali pengalaman akan Allah, memahami tujuan hidupnya dan bagaimana menanggapi cinta Allah dalam hidup. Pelayanan : iman tidaklah hidup dalam ruang hampa. Pelayanan adalah tindakan konkret iman. Diharapkan dalam hidup sehari-hari, peserta mampu menghayati iman dengan pelayanan yang didasari oleh dedikasi dan kemurahan hati. Tujuannya adalah demi terwujudnya masyarakat yang lebih baik.

MAGIS Indonesia began with a journey.

In 2008, Indonesia became part of the MAGIS experience when Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Bandung welcomed young pilgrims for the MAGIS experiments before World Youth Day in Sydney. From that experience, MAGIS Indonesia was born, and a year-long journey of formation has continued ever since.

Since then, our community has remained part of the global MAGIS family—walking alongside young people from around the world in Spain (2011), Brazil (2013), Poland (2016), and Portugal (2023).

We are part of something much bigger than ourselves.

Now, for the first time, MAGIS-WYD is coming to Asia. Korea 2027 is an invitation to continue this pilgrimage: to keep the fire alive, to grow together, and to share the gift of Ignatian spirituality with young people from every corner of the world.

As our MAGIS-WYD alumni share, every pilgrimage brings unexpected encounters, new friendships, deeper faith, and insights that continue to shape the way we live and serve long after the journey ends.

Perhaps, in 2027, it will be your story.

Every pilgrimage begins with a single step.
Perhaps your next step is simply the courage to say,
“Yes, Lord, I want to keep growing.”

Having journeyed through MAGIS formation, you are now invited to continue that journey through MAGIS-DID-WYD Korea 2027—a year-long pilgrimage of formation rooted in Ignatian Spirituality.

Together, we will continue to deepen our relationship with God through prayer and discernment, build friendships across cultures, and prepare ourselves to become young people of spiritual depth and strong leadership, ready to bring hope and ignite peace wherever we are sent.

As we prepare for World Youth Day Seoul 2027, we are invited not simply to travel, but to be transformed, and to become companions who help transform the world.

[ IMMERSION EXPERIMENT MAGIS 2026 ]

The Immersion Experiment is an integral part of the Ignatian formation process. Its purpose is to help participants engage more deeply in following the way of Christ, enabling them to discover the true meaning, fullness, and freedom of life. Following Christ through contemplation of the Incarnation was one of the essential dimensions of Christian life. Though He was in the form of God, Christ did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped. Instead, He emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant and becoming fully human (cf. Philippians 2:6–7).

Inspired by the spirit of “Ad Vitam Profundam, Servire Cum Compassione”—A Deeper Life Through Compassionate Service—formandi encountered and experienced the profound depth of God’s love.

In collaboration with Yayasan Atmabrata in Cilincing, this three-day Immersion Experiment provided an intensive opportunity for the formandi to serve and accompany the local community. Through every task and responsibility, they embraced a spirit of availability, always ready to help in whatever way they could. In every act of service, they sought to embody Christ’s compassion and love for others.

[ HELPING SOULS ]

Jesus often comes to us in quiet and unexpected ways, through a listening ear, a helping hand, or a simple act of kindness. Rooted in the Ignatian spirit of Ayudar a las Almas (“helping souls”), we are invited to recognize His presence in the people around us and to become that presence for others.

Inspired by St. Stanislaus Kostka’s motto, Ad Maiora Natus Sum (“I was born for greater things”), we are reminded that true greatness is found in generous self-giving. Just as Jesus “went about doing good” (Acts 10:38), each of us is called to step beyond our comfort and serve with love in the ordinary moments of daily life. Every sincere act of compassion, no matter how small, has the power to help a soul encounter God.

[ DISCERNMENT ]

In Ignatian spirituality, discernment is not simply about choosing between good and bad, but learning to choose between two seemingly good paths by listening deeply to the movements within our hearts: our thoughts, desires, fears, peace, and restlessness.

Through prayer and the Examen, we slowly become more aware of consolation and desolation; the movements of the good spirit and the bad spirit within us.
And in that awareness, God gently teaches us how to choose.

Discernment leads us to electio, that is the courage to make a choice.
And true choice leads us to confirmatio which means the deep peace and freedom that confirm God’s presence in our decision.

Pada tahun 2026, MAGIS Jakarta kembali mengadakan MAGIS Live In (Immersion Experiment) bagi peserta yang telah menjalani formasi selama 7 bulan, sebagai perwujudan Latihan Rohani melalui keterlibatan langsung bersama masyarakat, khususnya mereka yang terpinggirkan, di tujuh lokasi binaan Paroki Keuskupan Agung Jakarta.

Mengusung tema “Ad Vitam Profundam, Servire Cum Compassione”, kegiatan ini mengajak peserta untuk melangkah lebih dalam dalam hidup dan pelayanan, belajar melepaskan kelekatan, menemukan makna, serta hadir dalam kesederhanaan, sehingga tumbuh kepekaan dan kepedulian terhadap realitas sosial di sekitar.

Mari ambil bagian bersama kami dalam mewujudkan kasih, melayani dengan kepedulian, dan menjadi bagian dari karya cinta Tuhan di dunia. Melalui donasi Anda, semakin banyak uluran tangan yang hadir bagi saudara-saudari kita yang membutuhkan.
