THE END OF THE JUBILEE YEAR | Following the provisions made in the Bull of Indiction, Pope Leo XIV closes the Holy Door of Saint Peter's Basilica, marking the end of the Ordinary Jubilee of 2025.

In the Prayer of Thanksgiving for the Ordinary Jubilee Year, we are reminded that even if the Holy Door is closed, the doors of God's Mercy remain wide open.

After the prayer was recited by Pope Leo, he spent a few moments of silent prayer, kneeling at the threshold of the Holy Door. After this, he will personally close the two bronze door leaves.

The rite of closing the Holy Door will immediately be followed by the Celebration of the Holy Mass for the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, which is still celebrated on 06 January in Rome.

The actual walling-up of the Holy Door will take place at a later time, in private. There are rites to be followed which are overseen by the Office of Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff.

The rites for the closing of the Holy Door were established in 1975. Then, the walling-up of the door was done publicly. These rites were simplified by Saint John Paul II during the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000, when the walling-up of the door was now deigned to be done in private.

The Holy Doors of Rome will be opened once more in 2033, during the Extraordinary Jubilee of Redemption, commemorating the 2000th Year since the Death of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

LOOK: The Our Lady of Victories Parish Youth Ministry held their pilgrimage last December 27, 2025, just in time for the closing of the Jubilee Doors at ASF.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him.” - Romans 15:13

By God’s grace, the Our Lady of Victories Parish Youth Ministry was able to complete a one-day pilgrimage on the final day of the
Pilgrims of Hope, before the closing of the Holy Door.

We are gathered today to commemorate the solemn Feast of Our Lady of Victories, affectionately known to us as Indu ning Tagumpe, marking seven decades of graces and triumphs rooted in faith, love, and devotion.

For seventy years, her maternal intercession has served as a constant guide for our community, navigating trials and celebrating triumphs. This anniversary is a profound reminder that all success and every victory is born from prayer, unity, and unwavering trust in God.

As we reflect upon the manifold blessings bestowed upon us, we look to the future with hearts overflowing with gratitude, recommitting ourselves to the mission of embodying the virtues of humility, compassion, and perseverance that our Blessed Mother so perfectly exemplifies.

May this significant milestone serve not only as a celebration of our past achievements but also as a powerful affirmation of the enduring faith that continuously inspires us to serve with joy and hope. We pray that Our Lady of Victories will perpetually guide us toward her Son, Jesus Christ, the ultimate source of our strength and triumph.

A Prayer to Our Lady of Victories

O Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Victories, we offer our profound gratitude for seventy years of maternal love, guidance, and protection. Intercede on our behalf, your devoted children, that we may remain steadfast in our faith and courageous in the face of life’s trials. Bestow upon us hearts filled with peace, compassion, and the spiritual victory over sin and apprehension. Through the grace of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, may our lives be a perpetual triumph of love. Amen.

Viva Apung Victoria! Viva!

LOOKING BACK ON KATÓOD GERARDINE’s NYD ADVENTURE ✨

As we come closer to the Echo of National Youth Day 2025, let’s rewind to the unforgettable memories of our delegates from the Vicariate who joined thousands of young pilgrims in Cáceres, rejoicing in hope.

Here’s a sneak peek into their journey: the friendships formed, the joy shared, and the hope that continues to blaze the trail of mission.

Let this lookback remind us that the Echo isn’t just a replay — it’s a chance to share the spark, relive our “yes,” and rejoice as one family in Christ.

See you at the NYD 2025 Echo, mga Katóod! 🙌
